  1. I did that and appears my batt is still good held at 12.6 Diagnosing further now the rain stopped I'm getting 13.6 volts now on the +B post of alternator but only 12.87 volts at battery engine running With engine and key off I get 12.87 volts at alternator + telling me fusible link is good between alternator and battery so still can't figure out why Im not getting 13.6 at my battery when engine is running?

  2. I happened to look at my solar charger display hooked to my coach battery with no solar panel connected and the meter said 17 volts with no dash light on, engine running it works light goes out as soon as engine starts  Checked both battery voltages with meter and were at 17 volts shut it off immediately Checked all wires checked all connections and grounds everything's fine I purchased a new voltage regulator and it read 15.5 volts Took it back and got another one This one reads 13.01 at back of alternator + terminal  battery voltage reads 12.87 with engine running Can't imagine two bad voltage regulators in a row and I took alternator to parts store they said its weak but still working within specs Sensor wire has 12v ignition wire has 12v on alternator What could be the problem?

    Thanks in advance

  3. Just replaced the rear axle bearings and seals on my 83 Gran Sport Ranger The job for the most part wasn't to bad I did have to make a quick and dirt set up to press off the bearings But other than that it went pretty smooth Defiantly not a fan of the rear brakes they were probably the worst part of the job Anyhow here's what I made to press off and on the bearings if anyone was looking for an easy cheap way  Made it out of some 1.25" strap i had laying around

  4. It came with new Hankook tires only a few hundred miles on them all the way around With the 0 offset what would be the widest rim I could put on the back and still clear my airbags and springs? I just had it weighed and the local Cat scale and it weighed 1700 Front 2320 back total 4020 with quarter tank of gas and empty water tank so i'm easily within my GVWR of 4650

    Thanks

  5. Thanks Linda S I understand exactly what you're saying I plan on taking it off on dirt fire roads on occasion which could really put a load on the outer wheel  I'll have to look into purchasing some rims, tires and a stabilizer bar and check the bearings while I'm at it

One more question my tag says the GAWR is 2905 lb plan on getting is weighed still what's the chances of it coming in under that?

  6.  The Gran sport Ranger I bought has the 5 lug with foolies Im not sure the GVW of it but its defiantly lighter than the average Dolphin and some of the others Is it really a problem running the foolies even with lower PSI in the outer tire?

Thanks IdahoDoug That's a good idea I'll look into finding a scale to weigh it I'll get back as soon as I get it weighed What was the weight they were rated for from the factory? If I were to go single wheel should I go to a wider rim than stock for stability?

  7. I'm looking to replace my cracked fuel door on my 83 Gran Sport Ranger I looked through the forum and didn't see anything on this subject I believe the opening is 6.5" x 6.5" and overall is around 11" square I searched the internet and can't find anything to match Do other Toyota motorhomes use this style and if so would anyone have a link to where I can purchase one

    Thanks in advance!
