  1. Gulfstream Greg, thank you. So, we are working with those Buss type fuses. I am guessing we can rig them up similarly to make that tool...wire at each end, right? Also, what should I be looking at when I open up each non working light. The connection to the actual light. The wires connecting each light. All of it probably, right? I am sorry....it's novice electrician's eyes that you are dealing with. Thanks for your help.
  2. an update to my original post: While turning on the lights on the passenger side (the side where lights work) we blew two fuses on two different occassions. Just thought that might shed some more light for anyone with an electrical background. Thanks so much for any help.
  3. Hi all, We have a 1986 Odyssey and have been having some issues with it. The latest is of the electrical kind. The lights on the driver's side of the motorhome are not working. There is a fan at the rear vent that doesn't work either. The outdoor light doesnt work as well. This just happened. The passenger side works just fine (along with the rest of the electrical components...water pump, ac, heater, etc). We took a look at the fuses and all the fuses look fine. The convertor seems to be working fine. The light bulbs look fine as well. Any clues? Any one? Or does anyone have a layout/diagram of the electrical wiring for these homes. Thanks so much for any help. take care, Stacy
  4. Hello Folks, We have a 1986 Oddyssey and in need of some plumbing help/opinions. The water pipe (that old pvc stuff) leading to the toilet has a leak. As far as we can tell the leak is right at the corner joint as the piping turns toward the toilet. It's in such a tight corner behind the wooden cabinetry so it's hard to take a look in there. We fixed a leak in the past, but the joint was easy to get to from both sides, which made it easier to cut out the "bad" section and put in a new corner joint...not so this time. We tried a fix by covering the pipe section with silicone. We let it dry and ran the water just now...the leak is still there. Any thoughts? We are working at the Badlands of South Dakota so it's a bit hard to get supplies 'round here. Thanks for any help. take care, Stacy
  5. Hi all, We are having some issues with our Onan Microlite 2.8 genset. It's missing two 5amp fuses, when we bypassed them we almost got it to go. Anyone know what kind of fuses it takes. We tried calling a few auto shops with no luck. Thanks for any help!
  6. Hi, First of all, thanks to those that replied to my previous question. We have definetely learned a lot from reading through the postings on this board. It looks like we might finally have found the RV for us. It's a 1986 Odyssey, 4cyl, all appliances work, and it has about 55k miles. We want feedback about a couple of things. We have read that the roof of the Odyssey is solid and aluminum. Does this mean that it is heavier? If so, is this of a concern? The generator is broken, is it expensive to fix (it's an Onan)? After a tire blow out, the RV pulls to the right. Is it hard to align these vehicles? We are purchasing the RV for $3700 (we're in Southern California). What do you guys think? thank you!
  7. Hello! We are thinking of buying an 1982 Dolphin for $3800 and would like some help/advice. The Dolphin has the 1-ton rear axle, has a 5-speed transmission, tires in great shape, has 121,000 miles (5,000 on rebuilt engine), has a brand new 10 foot awning, and all the appliances (new fridge, stove) work. The RV doesn't have an on-board generator (something we wanted), but otherwise seems to be in great shape mechanically (current owner is a mechanic). What it lacks a bit on is cosmetics, probably due to quite a few trips down into Mexico. The roof and sides have been patched up quite a bit and it also has a leak towards the front of the cab, above the passenger - we found some mold under the cushion up there. One concern we have is that this leak will cause us many headaches as we head to rainier areas (Northern California and Oregon). Also, the current owner shared that the roof is "shifting." We took that to mean that it is caving in some areas, but when we looked up there all we saw was a lot of patching. Thoughts, anyone? Is $3800 a fair price for this RV? Thank you for any help or advice.
