  1. OK here is the deal. It would not idle. You cold drive the rig if you used the old "heal and toe" Tech. Those of you that have driven a non synchro sports car know what I am talking about. Anyway the wife and I where driving over to one of my kids houses and she pointed out that besides feeling like a fool with me revving the engine all the time ,she was freezing her little butt off because the heater fan did not work. Ok I found a blown fuse 7.5 amps for the heater fan and that fixed the idle problem. Can't see on the schmatic what else this feeds but thats it. Thanks for the help and I hope this helps somebody.
  2. No that did not help. It does not really try to idle. If the rpms get below about 400 or so (Im guessing) It just stalls period. You have to keep your foot on the throttle.
  3. Ye it's got a carb. But I don't blame you for asking. I have aknife switch on the rig that totally disconnects the battery when youare working on it and helps with theft prevention so That was open andI only got sparks when I was done installing the new battery and not atthe battery. ( I was not always an idiot.) Ok I will get a chance to look at some solenoids tomorrow and let you know. Thanks
  4. I guess I am getting ready for the nursing home. I replaced theengine battery and put it in backwards. In my 65 years I bet I havereplaced 30 batteries in different vehicles and never done this. I blew the 60 amp thermal link. Replace it ,she starts and drives ok but will not idle below about 1000 rpm. I cleaned the rotor ,and cap terminals but no help. Thought I would post this and ask for help b4 I go any further It gets better. I forgot to say I have an 84 carb, 4cylinder. I have said to much already. My father used to say " better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".
  5. Pager 5, Great pics - have a question and a comment though - what size tires are you running on the dulies - I noticed they are touching and they may not be good - another thing, the bushings on your shocks should be tightened down till the rubber is the same size diameter as the metal washers. 84 Get er done
  6. Say Fire362 Someplace ?? I recently read that Chev. Rims will fit our Toy's. ????
  7. What a great forum. Lots of usable info. I need to ask one more question about tires if you don't mind. I just purchased a 1985 (1984 truck chassis) Coachmen Savanna. Not my first MH but my first Toyota of any type. I see the consensus is to use 185R14C tires. I will purchase 6 before any further trips as mine are all dry rotted. I was wondering if there would be any advantage to using 195's if I can find them. Currently the rig has 195's on the front and 225 70R's on the duals. It handled great in very heavy wind coming home 120 miles yesterday but like I said the dry rot and the fact that the duals are touching and that can't be good, is going to have me replace all tires. Any further thoughts on the subject? Thanks BAP
