  1. 32 Miles per gallon or km per gallon? Cause 32 Miles per gallon (MPG) would be great! Ours get 15 - 20 MPG.
  2. Yea but the contoller has to go where it is cause my lights plug in to the controller. I'm going to get 10 gauge right now. Some people on this solar panel forum said the samething as you, "controller as close as possible to the batteries" but then someone said that # 12 or # 10 would be ok and work fine. I am very new at all this...
  3. I think your the first to have one of those on toyotamotorhomes.com. Pretty cool, never seen a slideout on a toyota motorhome before! What MPG do you get?
  4. So then the weight really does that much. I was thinking it was more the big wind block that the camper makes that drags down the mpg (can't help) Anyone out there with an 18'er? It seems like 75% of people on here have the bigger motorhomes (20'-24') What the highest mpg anyone hear of on a toyota motorhome?
  5. 35, thats great! at 70 mph! When I drove my motorhome home after I bought it I was doing 50 mph in 4th and it sounded like it was high rpm's... sounds like it needs a 5th gear to me.
  6. Sorry, its 45 watt. 10 or 12 gauge wire? Is that what you mean? I got it wired today with 16 gauge, and the wires are 17 feet long from the battery to controller.
  7. I have a new Harbor Freight 45 solar panel on my motorhome and am doing the wiring. The controller that comes with it is mounted right above the door (door is a right behind the cab) very close to the panel itself so thats no problem, but now to get to the battery from the controller is about 20' of wire! Is that going to cut the power I'm getting from the panel? I could if I really have to remount the battery closer, but its still 16' of wire to get it there. The other thing is, in the solar kit it has battery wires in it but they'er only 3' long and 18 gage, I'm using 16 gage. Anyone know anything about this?
  8. 19.2 sounds good. Is it an 18'?
  9. Anybody "Hypermile" there motorhome? I thought of somethings I'm going to try with mine. Make a underbody panel that goes from the rear axle to the back to stop that wind drag, make covers over rear wheels, fair in the big step from cab to camper (big drag), And for me, angle the 8' roof lift that I made so its not a big step. I may make a front lip that goes all the way to the ground to stop air from going under the motorhome but not sure if thats will help cause its a big gap to fill in and more drag maybe? I just can't see myself only getting 15-16 mpg! cause my lowest mpg vehicle gets 60 mpg. I'm going to have to get at least 20 mpg, think thats do able with those mods, oh plus I'm running a single axle, that should help the mpg to not have 2 extra wheels. Whats a toyota pickups mpg stock with a 4cyl 22r manual?
  10. Does anyone really even get 20mpg?
  11. Mine, 82 18' Sunrader, don't know? Haven't drove.
  12. Seems pretty cool. Website looks a little sketchy.
  13. You'll probably be ok, though that is alot of weight. I'd drive real slow.
  14. Hes talking about motorcycles. What kind or bikes are they? Dirt bikes? If they'er dirt bikes like CRF 450s of something (250 lbs each) I think you would be ok.
  15. Man thats a lot of stuff in there. Whats your motorhome weigh? Did you have a lot in your sunrader like this on the 5 lug?
  16. 126k, My "Deathtrap" runs good after you get it started. WOW 35k is the lowest I've seen now! Whats a 22R or 22RE motorlife in a motorhome? 200k tops?
  17. I'm in the same boat as you. Have a 5 lug 3/4 ton, I just took off the two outside wheels to make it a single axle. Looking for a cheaper fix. Is there a 1 ton single axle?
  18. The walls are soft? thats not good. Your going to need to fix that if there too bad. With the roof you could go with wood beams (3'' x 3'') or metal beam(s) like the 21'' sunrader has, or rip out the paneling and reframe it.
  19. I've got some junk like that too if any wants 2 vents 1 vent cover 10 gallon water tank, (inside tank) That whole fuse box inverter thing that weights a ton
  20. My suspensions creaking when you walk in and out of the motohome and some times when inside, its coming from the rear. Is there anyway to fix it? like lubing some or other? Or do you have to take the whole thing apart?
  21. Anything that doesn't make it go faster has got to come off, Maybe I can hit 55 now haha.
