  1. Thanks all,

    This is too much reason to keep LPG.  Ill have to look into how to make it work.  Later I'll add the 300watts of solar and marine batteries to run fridge.

  2. I'm looking to add generator- likely small Honda or Yamaha.  Also looking to ditch the Dometic fridge for basic apartment fridge, then cut the LPG tank out and add batteries and solar.  I only plan to make beach runs and small 3 day camp trips.

     This a bad idea?

    Hi, i am restoring my 84 dolphin and i am taking out old carper. is there a way to get the carpet from underneath the lower sofa wall and where the water tank storage panel is? thanks

    I removed the couch/bed framing, to get that nasty carpet out with more ease.  I tried cutting to the edge and it was a BISCUIT.  I've not pulled the walls for the fridge and sink, yet.  But I don't like the process of cutting the edge.  These pics are the closest shots, but I think you'll get the idea.  If you want more pics, I'll snap more tonight.

    I used a hand-held jig-saw. If you cut the sides with the curves in front and install them first, the front paneling will cover those curved ends a bit so it need not be 100% perfect. Since I had no pattern to work with, I cut cardboard to slide in there (for the side panels) and fit first. I then used the cardboard as a pattern and traced it on to the new plywood to cut. You want to use a fine blade if cutting plywood with a thin finish veneer on it to keep that veneer from getting peeled and torn when sawing.

    Hey Zero,

    Do you have any pics of how you framed the sides and bed?  Did you use 3/4" for any of it?

    WME,  this seems like a good price on elastomeric coating;

    DO you think the Menard's coatings are different than the higher priced brands?

  6. Thanks Wemit.  Ill definitely use 3/4" on sides. For bed, ill need to research how to do those layers. The original bed seemed like it was 1/4" ply, then foam (in frame) then another 1/4" ply. Foam sandwich.

     Do you jave any pics or videos of how you did it?

  7. Trying multiple threads here:

    I just got 87 Dolphin.  It has major wood rot in the overhead. I'm looking for advice on an idea.  I thought i could replace the side walls with 3/4" wood instead of the foam/wood paneling.  Does anyone thins this would be to heavy for the overhead?  Also Plan on using 3/4" wood sheet  for the bed over cab.

    Hi, my name is Ozzy.  Yesterday I purchased my first ever RV.  It’s a 1986 Toyota Dolphin.  I would like to get copies of all the manuals that you can share with me.  I don’t have a clue about how to make things work in it.  Propane stove, water tanks, solar panel, batteries, lights, outlets, etc.  how can I reach you sooner?  my email is ozzykun@sbcglobal.net

    Hi Izzy, any luck with receiving manuals?
