  1. Thanks everyone, based on all your information I'm pretty well convinced to pass on getting a generator if one doesn't come with the RV I find, I have no desire to drive people away from quiet enjoyment of the outdoors. Silly question, is there any way to run an AC unit on anything but electricity? Why hasn't anyone built a small fuel cell for an RV? Slightly off topic, I once saw a generator the size of a softball, called the Tiny Tiger, I think it developed about 100 watts, and even with it's muffler working it was so loud you could hear it a mile away...
  2. Thanks for the info., it doesn't sound like it's a deal breaker, and I'd rather spend the generator money on a nice dry roof (and windows). It's too bad the battery won't run the microwave, wonder if I remember how to use the stove-
  3. I hope this hasn't been covered already, if so I apologize...Trying to narrow down the value of add-ons, in looking for a Sunrader I'm not finding any with generators. Did any get built with a generator? If so, what is a figure I should use for the value of a generator on a Sunrader? Is a generator really worth it (used a lot), if so can I get a portable that's worthwhile or should I try to get one built into the RV? Thanks!
  4. Thanks, this is what I wanted to hear, and sorry about the misnaming, I just keep imagining being parked on the beach, looking out the back window, watching the sun come up, more like seeking than raiding I guess...
  5. So, does Linda have a tree that might fall on my roof (remind me never to get near that tree). Linda, thanks, I never thought of trees, but there are a lot of huge ones where I live, lots of big dead branches too high to cut off. As far as a low overhead problem it's possible around here, lots of old overhead rail tracks. But I was mainly thinking of stress from whatever is on the roof, vibration from just going down the road, and maybe just being paranoid about ruining such a nice roof. I suppose I should worry about this AFTER I find a good Sunseeker.; Thanks-
  6. I looked back a good bit at the forum for this topic, didn't see it so I hope it's okay to start this as a new one. If we are ever lucky enough to find our heart's desire (a V6 Sunrader), if the roof needs repair how should it be done, since the roof is all fiberglass? I've done some fiberglass auto repair, and it almost never looks very good (MINE never looks very good). Thanks- and if anyone hears about a nice Sunrader looking for a good home, please holler, thanks!
  7. Thanks, this is great info., so the rubber roof on a class C is a good idea, I wonder if they are more difficult to replace than an aluminum one. Any idea how I can get an idea of cost? Thanks again-
  8. I'm new to this site, so I hope I'm posting in the correct place. I've been looking for an Oddessy Americana, can anyone verify for me that it has a rubber roof. If it does, is it difficult to replace the roof, and is this something that an RV repair place can do the correct way? I have heard of people using a cold seal paint on product on an Americana roof, but should that be used on a roof that's rubber? Just want to know how to get the job done right, or I'll start looking for an RV which is made with an aluminum roof. Thanks...
