I think floor plan is the deciding factor. We have a 18 foot Sunrader, the view out the back can be spectacular. An 18 footer though is small. My wife and I took some time before we learned how to not be in each others way. Still sometime one must wait for the other to move. The bath is really tiny. The longer rigs 21 footers really have a lot more elbow room. My preference would still to have the dinette in the rear for the view. Rear dinnettes might have a larger table also but not sure. As far as there being enough room for four, take everyone along to do a test fit before you buy. Some are layed out well inside and offer a bunch of elbow room and others are cramped. Also Sunraders have a lower ceiling height then most, so thats a consideration if your 6ft plus. Rear make up beds usually do not have the best cushions. If thats going to be your main bed then look into getting the foam replaced with posterpedic foam. Your first test night will make that decission for you. Engine size does matter. Two more people and gear is substantial. I would stay away from the 4 cyl. and look for a V6 if your set on getting a toyota. Your gas mileage will be in the 12 to 16 mpg range.

Recently went on a short trip to Fernwood RV resort in Big Sur California. Just about 2 hours from here. Its a nice place but was very dusty. The site we had was ok, but right next to us on the second day a huge trailer moved in and on the other side of that was a huge bus rv. Our little sunrader was dwarfed. The river there is very nice with a beach. Kids loved tubing and splashing. Here is a pic of a bridge on Hiway 1 that is spectacular. My guess its 400 feet high. Here is an albino redwood. Have to say I have never seen one of those. Here is a view from our spot looking at the river. POISEN OAK, beauiful heh? Another view of the river All in all it was a nice trip except for the dust factor. Here is a link to the park Fernwood Here is a link to Big Sur Big Sur Camping

I have a 22rte (turbocharged) pushing a 6800 pound sunrader. Its prety close to the horse power of a V6. I would like more power. So if its going a bit faster up that grade then stay away from the 22re and 22r engines. I have drivin a V6 and a 22re home and definitly the V6 is a big difference.

Don't know the name of this bridge but its really high. Built in 1942. There is a 18 wheeler on the bridge. Its located north of Big Sur. It was scary to look over the edge into this canyon to take the photo. -

There is a relay. The bad news is I have looked both thru my service manual, owners manual and chiltons and can not find where it is located. There is also a temp sensor for the transmission. The transmission is supposed to be 122 degrees plus or overdrive will not engauge. Possible the temp sensor is bad. Under the hood on the passenger side there is a fuse box along with some relays. I know some of the relays are for the headlights but maybe its there.

Bill Sounds like someone modified the drain. 18 footers have the shower drain going into the black water tank via a p trap. The black water tank is only 8 gallons. So a couple of showers can fill it up. You have four options. You can get a boat bladder to connect to the hose when you take a shower. You can allways camp in a spot where you can just run it on the ground. You can re connect it to the black water tank. Or you can put in a small holding tank with a water activated bilge pump and pump it to your grey water tank. I have an 18 footer also and the shower into the black tank is a huge problem when out in the woods for a week. I am considering a tank and bige pump but the bladder idea is sounding really good. When not in use the bladder takes up little space. But I have not found a cheap one yet. Here is a link to some BLADDER
