Sadie's Road Trip June 2010
Stopping by the Iwo Jima Memorial in Wakeeney KS- (Had been in the upper 90's in Oklahoma the day before, but a cool front hit us as we crossed the KS border from Oklahoma around 10pm.....slept over in Wakeeney, KS with blankets, to the hum of the big trucks.)
The entire drive was one cosmic moment after another. In Kansas they have wind farms, prairie dogs, Dorothy and Toto, rolling prairies, lots of wind and billboards. Gil and I wrote a song:
Prairie Dog Town and a Six Legged Steer. Something 'bout a rattlesnake. Seems pretty near. I wanna go. I wanna go.
Dorothy and Toto and Aunti Em too. Wish I could find me some ruby red shoes. I wanna go. I wanna go.
Jelly fish clouds and a Giant VanGogh. Is it a painting? Nobody knows. I wanna go. I wanna go.
Looking at a train, I see it's front and it's back. Driving through Kansas is just so darn flat. I wanna go. I wanna go.
Silly yeah. Gil sat most of the trip up front with her Ukulele and wearing an adventure time hat. We had more fun!!!!!
