waiter Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I bought a set of brake pads for the front, but looks like I'll be taking them back. We pulled both front wheels, the pads look new, and the bearings have been repacked. While we had it apart, we installed grease fittings everyplace we could. Front end looks very good. Quote
Derek up North Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I'm wondering if you had any difficulty finding parts for any 1-Ton specific 'systems' you've worked on? The reason I ask is that there were few (if any) 1-Ton Toyotas imported to Canada. I haven't looked yet, but I'm anticipating them being hard to find up here. I'm curious about the grease fittings you added. Where to? Were there holes there already but plugged and unused? Quote
waiter Posted January 9, 2011 Author Posted January 9, 2011 No problem with parts (I have an 88) We removed the plugs and put in fittings. Ipper and lower ball joint and a control arm. Quote
Derek up North Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I just hope I'm not going to have 100 miles each way to cross the border to get to an AutoZone/Advance Auto/NAPA every time I want to get parts. Quote
waiter Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Fortunately, my next door neighbor runs the local NAPA store. I think he sees it as a challenge to come up with any wierd or strange part!! So Far, hes come through on everything. Quote
Derek up North Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Lucky you. My next door neighbour runs the local chapter of PITA! Quote
