  1. Any advice on axle swapping anything other than the toyo 6 lug rear end? My 17' 5lug has blown a bearing and the diff is not in the best shape either. I've never been happy with the wimpy axle even though it is a smaller unit, it is still pushed to the max. So rather than rebuild the rear end, or just put in new bearings, I'm interested in other options for axles. Thought maybe a Ford truck or Tacoma would be interesting, something with a heavier load capacity. I'd really like to stay away from the dual wheels if possible, but a full floating would be great obviously but single wheel. Ideally something that shared the 5 bolt pattern and I can just use my existing tires. Could be up to 4 inches wider or so than the standard toyo axle... and I'm sure some fabrication would be needed for springs and the driveshaft, but all that is secondary to having something beefier. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  2. I just recently got a 1979 Toyota Sunrader.. Planning on swapping out the 1/2 ton rear axle for a 1 ton full floating axle.. My only problem is Im not quite sure where to start.. If I get a newer axle, will I be able to convert it to fit my older model? Any suggestion on what to get an axle of of (make, model, ect)m Thanks in advance.
  3. Hey guys! I am going to be buying a 5 lug 1983 sunrader coming up soon here. I have the opportunity to stop and do a 6 lug swap basically on my way home. It’s a factory 6 lug front and back 1 ton flatbed truck still in tact. I have spoken to a knowledgeable member and he says the front spindles will not fit on my 83. So I just plan on doing the rear 6 lug conversion. Besides u bolts (and what size do I need), sway bar, and possibly swapping the rear drive shaft flange from the 87 to the 83 will I need?
