  1. I posted this on the discussion site by accident. I want to share my experience with installing new LED tail lights on my '87 Sunrader.

I have attached files identifying parts and a template for the bezels, I don't know if you can still get them or not.

I am very pleased with the outcome as now all the lights on the Sunrader are LED save for the headlights.

  2. I posted this project earlier before I understood there is a site here for projects.

The floor in my '97 Sunrader was spongy so I set out to fix it. I found this very helpful video on youtube on how to use epoxy to repair spongy floors in an RV.

The fix involves drilling holes in a grid pattern, injecting epoxy, filling holes with wooden dowels, sanding down dowels then covering the floor with stick on tiles. used this method with great success so wanted to share this with others.

Recent owners of a 1987 Gulfstream Toy. We have plans to take our MH up through Georgia and into Virginia, stopping at some campgrounds in the forests on the way up, mostly close to the Appalachian trail. Can we make it without any trouble? Anyone with tips and tricks for driving an auto tranny up hill would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have an app on my smartphone: Avoid the Hill. Shows you the flattest route to where you are going.

  4. I replaced the original tail lights with LED lights on my 1987 Sunrader. I will attach images of the project including details on parts.

There was a lot of surface prep needed and I found a great scraper for excess silicone seen in one of he pics.

See "uploaded files" for parts list.

I don't think bezels are any longer available so you may have to have some made for you. I got these on Ebay but don't think they are any longer available.

I also have the old lights available is any one wants them.

  5. Currently replacing tail lights with LEDs. Will post pics when done.

The project was put on hold and now active again. Should be done with the Barkeep/Zep project in a couple of weeks.

I will update as that happens. Thanks for the interest.

  6. I will visit a relative with a 30 amp plug in for their trailer, which they occupy. Is there a way that I can piggyback on their 30 amp plug? Some sort of plug in double outlet? I have been exploring but can't find what I have pictured i.e. a 30 amp Y connector. Don't know if it exists?

  7. I found the post:

I went online to find a way to reinforce/repair weak floor in my '87 Sunrader. I ran into this excellent YouTube site where the process is demonstrated. Essentially it involves drilling holes in the existing flooring, injecting an epoxy every 6", pounding dowels into the holes to compress epoxy, then cutting off dowels. This method worked great!

  8. See my post on using epoxy and wood filler. I have a link to video showing the process. Basically it involves drilling holes in 1-2" squares and filling with epoxy then hammering dowels into the holes which you cut off after the epoxy hardens. Worked great in my unit. Hope this helps.

Choices.. buy a solar controller that has 3-4 stages. Some mfg call their controller a 3 stage others that do the same thing call theirs a 4 stage. What your looking for is an equalization charge stage.

A desulfator as a bit different. This is what I use for a desulfator... https://www.ebay.com/itm/PulseTech-PowerPulse-12-Volt-Battery-Maintenance-System-PP-12-L/183658489068?epid=2254333963&hash=item2ac2e624ec:g:bVYAAOSwaEdcTyhv.

It'snn powered from the battery so there is a small constant drain. The solar panel will handle it though.

Outstanding! Great info. Do you know if this can be used with two six volt batteries?

Really appreciate your thinking on this.

  10. I have installed an Inteli-charger in my '87 Sunrader. The inteli-charger pulses 14 amps to the batteries, which keeps them from sulfating the batteries during storage. I lost two Trojan Batteries in my Winnebago View before I installed an inteli-charger.

My question is this: If I install solar on my Sunrader will the solar input into the system be pulsed by the inteli-charger or does the solar go directly to the battery without going thru the Inteli-charger?

    Thanks,
