My tires are 9 years old, they look good. They are 185/14c 8pr102/1000 tires. The RV sits for long periods of time.
I have been told that the ODOT, Oregon Department of Transportation has a 9 year age limit on tires.
I also apparently do not have extensions on the inner tires fill valve. I'm going to address this.
Do you think I need to replace the tires? No cracking and look good.
These seem like an odd size, what do you think? If I replace them any recommendations what size, source?
I have read the prior posts on tires.
I found these on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/i/303504294379?chn=ps
Thanks a lot! This has been such a great group for me! I have learned a great deal and appreciate all the help.

IF YOUR tank has a gauge that uses a magnetic gauge sender, change to a remote meter is easy. BUT your panel has to have a button for LP. Full up proper panel replacement is a$200 project.
Whats going on inside tour tank...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ix0XxbnBDhg
IF you have this set you DO NOT have to empty your tank and its a 5 min install.
Excellent! I knew there was something out there!! I'm going to run it by my intstall guy. Thank you WME for your patience and taking the time to research this for me. I hope this will be valuable for others too. Thank you!

I have the horizontal mounted also. Mine has a terminal on the gauge. See the picture I posted. There was a wire that ran from that terminal to my stove hood that indicated LPG level. It seemed accurate. I plan to reconnect it when I get my rebuild done. Look on yours to see if you have the terminal. My plan is to use see level sensors and they tell me they are compatible with this tank and sensor. Others probably have a better working knowledge of these, as this is my first mounted tank.

"What we have here is a failure to communicate." Are you after a propane gas line pressure gauge or a how full is my tank gauge?
If you want a how full is your tank gauge is, try this...https://www.rvupgradestore.com/AP-Products-024-1002-Propane-Gas-Indicators-2-p/06-2192.htm
Thanks, this is what I had in mind. I will pursue this more. I appreciate your detective work. I figured there must be something like this out there. It is the how full is my tank gauge I'm looking for. Iflyfishinastreamoffailuretocommunicate

You guys are amazing! I really appreciate the thinking here.
I have a horizontal tank installed at the factory. It has a pressure gauge on it. I am looking for something that I can perhaps attach (magnetically) to the tank that would send a signal to a monitor inside of the unit. I have a gauge that tells me fresh water level, black water level, battery level but no LP reading.

So where exactly is he? I am getting so tired of fixing shit, I could take a drive after the shut down is over
Linda S
I'm in Beaverton, Oregon, he lives a couple of miles away. Works privately. Knows his stuff, quick and reasonably priced. I would be happy to introduce him to you. Where are you? You can also email me if you choose. He's the real deal. He could have chosen to replace it but said I would save lots of money and hassle if he just repaired it. If you come you can also jump up and down on the floors I rebuilt with epoxy. I would love to meet you.

Not a good idea to permanently mount a pressure gauge inside. They are not hard tube. They use a rubber hose to a appliance jet. BUT here is a gauge...https://www.tequipment.net/Dwyer/LPTK-01/HVAC-Manometers-and-Micromanometers/?Source=googleshopping
If you just want to check the pressure to adjust a regulator, here is a home made manometer...http://www.rverscorner.com/manometer.html
Thanks WME, appreciate your input. What I was thinking about was I have seen sensors stuck to LP gas cans that give a reading. I was just wondering if there was such a thing that cold remotely monitor the tank without having to hook up a hose to monitor. I was thinking some sort of stick on monitor that broadcasted the level. Maybe pie in the sky.

Has anyone found an interior LP gas gauge that can be installed inside the coach?

Make sure your tech knows that almost all the parts to rebuild our little heaters are still available. Blower motor, circuit board, sail switch and the list goes on. I need to tear into mine too. Gonna start with the blower motor. Think it's just not turning fast enough to open the sail switch. Let me know how yours goes.
Linda S
My Tech guy is Certified and examined it today. He says the combustion chamber is intact and he can rebuild it. Whew!!! What a relief! I will update when done. Thanks to all who have spent time with this.

Its the thought that counts😁 Regardless of the art work its a viable option for a cheaper alternative while still having a vented heater
Crack me up! Burn the house down add!
I'm working with a Tech now. He is going to tear the one I have down and see if it is repairable. If not, thanks to this group, I have options of another unit of about the same size to install.
Thank you and the rest of the folks who have pitched in on this issue. I will keep you posted.

This furnace is very close to your existing one. 2 inches deeper but in my Sunrader I'm pretty sure there are an extra 2 inches. In all other ways it looks identical

Here is one on ebay too that was bought and never used. Case looks slightly bent but not in anyway the might make it not work. Seller has 100% feedback which is very good for someone with over 500 items sold. Has make offer on it too. You could offer 400? Would be a very good deal

Do measure your space though
Thank you Linda for taking the time to explore this. I will run these by my guy. I'll keep everyone posted on what works.

Well, hows your whittling skills. The new Atwood furnaces in the 12-16 kbtu come in 2 basic sizes. DFMD 16xxx 7 3/8 x 16 1/2 x 20 and the DFSD 12xxx and the 16xxx, 7x12x20
Atwood was bought by Dometic so all the new PN are Dometic
Thank you very much WME. I will share this with my guy. Very helpful! I will keep all posted.

Sunraders came with Hydro Flame furnaces so an Atwood would likely be a better fit. You furnace is also ducted, this one just has heat coming out that one grill. There is an intake grill in front of your furnace but the 2 grills might not match in size. Is it completely dead? Parts can still be found to fix up our old ones.
Linda S
Thanks Linda. I'm trying to find a replacement now. I'll keep folks posted on what I find.

The NT-16 was the standard heater in most Toys of your vintage. What make and model do you have now?
Mine is a Atwood / Hydro Flame Furnace Model 8516
My RV tech says that it is highly rusted on the outside and no doubt also on the inside. He says it is not safe and I believe he knows what he is doing. The 8516 is no longer manufactured and it looks like I will need to find a replacement for it.

I am still sorting the problem with my defunct heater in my Sunrader.
Has anyone replaced one? Where did you find it? How much was it? Is it possible to find a used one.
I'm still a bit nervous about having a portable heater.
Thanks for your input.

I have just found that our furnace is not working. It will cost a small fortune to replace it and parts for it are not available.
This got me thinking about a portable propane heater for cold nights.
Some sort of small wall mount hooked up to propane tank would be ideal but I doubt there is such a beast.
This leaves me thinking about a portable propane heater.
Anyone have a recommendation?
Thanks,

He did all of it. He has the pattern in his computer and can do whatever color.
I will get a shot of the over all of the vehicle tomorrow when I go work on it. I thought I had some but I looked and do not.
So if I understand he has decals for our Sunraders? How much do they cost? Thanks, looking great!

Maybe something...... The blog "Bound for nowhere" shows the owners doing the stripes on a Sunrader. They uses a local company Carbon Wraps in Orlando FL. CW may still have the computer files.

Best option is to have them duplicated at a local print shop. Places that do car wraps or signs will have the right equipment
Linda S
Tell them you might have quite a few others interested if they come out nice. SUNRADER insignia too. I'd buy those
I purchased these on Ebay. They are like the factory ones. Front and rear $40 https://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-SUNRADER-RV-CAMPER-FRONT-OR-REAR-DECAL-REPRODUCTION-DECALS-PAIR/152794175062?hash=item23933e1656:g:VUEAAOSwzgRWw4XX

I appreciate the input. Very helpful. I had a 2006 Winnebago View for a number of years. Great rig but repairs very expensive compared to my '87 Sunrader! Fuel injector blower went out in the View and cost me three grand! Traveled the country. Oregon to tip of Baja twice, Florida, Canadian Rockies, South West, British Columbia etc. It was a great RV. I hope you are enjoying yours and stay safe and here's to great adventures to come! Thanks
