Hello, I am new to the forum. I have a 1988 Dolphin that I am finally putting back together. I need some advice on finishing the floor and walls.
For the floor, I have started ripping out the carpet (not as easy as I thought). I was going to put adhesive tile, but wondered if it is better to have carpet since 1) there are lots of staples in the plywood floor; and 2) insulation. What have you done? I have 2 dogs so I want something easy to clean. The carpet in the cab also needs changing. And I am worried about all the curving parts of the interior that currently have carpet wrapped around == did you find a creative way with fabric, vinyl, etc?
Second are the walls. I have used Kilz painted over the wallpaper and also on the plywood under the wallpaper where the wallpaper was coming off. I have some water damage near some windows, and have glued and sanded in these areas. I was thinking about painting with an egg shell paint with a texture added to cover the wall imperfections. Have you done this? Any better suggestions?
Thank you so much. I have received some great advice from this forum in the past.
