  1. Howdy Back East Don.  Mohave here.  I'm making good progress on the RV.  Have an electrical question for you.  My lights are dim but my receptacles work full power.  This is occurring while plugged into the house power.  Are there any obvious and simple things you would check on before taking it into an expert?

      By lights I am presuming you mean the interior lights of the motorhome and by recepticals you mean the AC outlets?

      The lights work on the DC side of the electrical system.  Your power center has two part the AC and DC.  The DC is tied to the battery so if the voltage of the battery is normal and is charging correctly, the lights should work.  In addition to the lights, the stove vent fan, bathroom fan (if you have one) and the water pump all run on DC.

      If the power center is indeed working, I would suspect the DC grounds between the battery, RV chassis and power center.  The bulb used are standard 1156 single filament automotive bulbs that were common for tail and turn signal lights on cars.  If you had a voltage meter, it is pretty easy to confirm all of the above.
