  1. How about while everyone is waiting on the Sunrade project you show off the extended cab. I see these every so often but have never seen one in person. Is the frame one piece ? What size flat bed ? Due parts cross reference with 1 tons ?

I can understand that when you don't need to pay at the pump keeping track of mileage is kinda pointless but It would be nice to know some real world numbers. It is hard to crunch numbers on a diesel conversion when real world data is so hard to come by. Something informative like "put the sawzall down".

Congrats on the purchase. Good to see that it found a good home.

I just missed out on an 80's 2wd that ended up going to the crusher, My Bad.

  2. I know it isn't a Toyota but I thought it may be of some interest. Picked up the beginning of last month in Grand Junction Colorado. I've been working on setting up the interior and finding places for all my stuff.

    1984 Ford Ranger Rollalong.

  3. I doubt there's enough clearance to get the seat to swivel. The toy cockpit is not the most spacious one around. I do like the idea of flipping the seat around backwards. Ideally, it would be nice to have it mounted so that you could quickly unhook it and flip it around.

Also in order to clear the center tunnel you would need to raise it. Then you may run into head clearance issues.

  4. Baja.... lots of the same things I have thought of or read others experience. I wanted to hear it from someone that has spent so much time in Baja. I would think your either living in the camper or outside the camper depending on the weather. Three biggest negatives - Dust, wind ( if those hinges let go that hatch could end up in Hawaii ), Dual sport on the back bumper ( having to move it every time you need to enter the rig).

Thanks Baja, when are we going to see an update ?

  5. Bajadulce - Could you expand on the sideslinger over hatch. Supercamper seemed to have a cool concept, does it not work in Baja. I envision backing into a spot and opening the hatch. Maybe an enclosed screen room. Almost sleeping under the stars. I can see in the northeast the long seasons that are infested with bugs, that might suck.

haha funny video thnx for sharing.

Those mirages are pretty wild looking. I like em! The rear door is kinda bogus. Sideslingers seem so much more practical.

The video is interesting if you pay attention to all the old cars in the background (buses, old vets, mobile home, and a host of other junk cars.) This guy is definitely a redneck and probably pretty damn proud of it. He obviously has some skills, but cutting out bits and pieces of the rustbucket to replace with parts from another rustbucket seems a bit of a lost cause. If you're going to go to all this trouble why not just put the shell on a newer truck? If the body looks like that, I would expect the undercarriage to be just as bad. He was committed tho! Pretty cool nonetheless.

  6. I built one on my 92 21 foot to haul my Derbi GP1 scooter. I also carried my Drz 400 but it was too much. I'll find pics if you can help me post them.

    Hello,

I am just wondering if anyone has built a rack or used a hitch rack for hauling a scooter. I have seen some discussion on the topic, but never saw if anyone had actuallly done it. We were looking at a small 240 lb scooter (Yamaha Vino 125). I have seen several products that go in a receiver hitch, and also have a good Welder who could custom build something for it. My RV is an 85 Sunrader 22RE auto, and there are generally just the two of us. I would appreciate anyone sharing their advice or experience.

    Thanks,

    James

  7. Sorry--couldn't log on to classified wanted for some reason, but if anybody knows of a small (15'), V6 Sunrader for sale (if such exist), in good shape and no cab rust issues or leaks, etc, or a small (again 15') later model w/2RE or other fuel injected engine, let me know. Willing to trade the '87 Bandit, 22RE as well, as partial payment, for someone looking for a garageable RV....

    THanks

I'd be interested to see the Bandit. Where are you located ?

  8. I spent about a year and a half in my 21ft Sunrader here in colorado. I was lucky and had a free spot adjacent to a garage with electrical connection. I would dump my black and grey tanks and fill with propane and about once a month. Winters I used bottled water and only ran the heat at the end of the day while eating and just before bed. I hung sleeping bags over the windows and used an electric bunk warmer for heat. The bunk warmer would about kill the house battery with one night of use. That was why the free electric was key. I wore fleece, hat and sox to bed. After a while I kind of wasn't affected so much buy the cold. When you needed wrmthe the furnace would heat the RV in minutes. I know your thinking, What was the coldest night?, Minus 6, everything was covered in frost the next morning.
