  2. hey everybody!!!

as the weather start to get colder, i was interested in getting a space heater for inside the toy.

i have used the propane some, but the fan seems to really drain the house battery quickly. i have a 2800 gen but it is so damn loud.

i am rarely hooked up to elec as i boondock mostly. should i get a propane or kerosene space heater???? or just an elec and run the gen.???? any suggestions.....???? this is my first year with my toy.....

  3. i sometimes get a strong gas smell when driving my 94 toy winnie warrior. it seems to happen when i fill the gas tank and top it off. last week my interior alarm even went off. i had to pull over on the highway and thought i was going to blow up. (yes, funny visual) but not so funny at the time.

do i have a gas leak somewhere? has anyone else had this problem.

thanks to all who answer. you toy people are amazing....

  5. hey guys!!!

i am in process of gutting and redecorating my toy. i know, such a girlie thing to do. but wait until you see the pics. anyway..... i am having laminate flooring installed. if i remove the current carpet, tile, and toilet - it will cost a lot less in labor.

HOW do i remove the toilet???? I will need to obviously reinstall it when the laminate is in......

help!! i need to drop off the rv on monday morning to the guys.

    Thanks.

  6. hi,

i just dropped my 94 toy winnebago warrior off at this guy i found who rebuilds generators and installs them. recommended through a local generator store.... so i thought he would be able to get me dialed in for $1500 total. when i arrived, he told me that the gen he was go ing to put in my mh was too big., much rigmarole later: i have choosed the onan rqv 2800. he told me it will fit. he also recommended a generac..... he said that one was a 2800 but smaller. not sure of the price on the generac. i choose to go with a more known name the onan with the 3 yr warranty. but boy does it cost: $2400 just for the generator and then you need the accoutremonts.... so i will let you what i am into it for in the end.

  7. i plan on using my 94 winnebago warrior in the winter and would like to have more clearance underneath due to snow etc. I have been hearing about these air booster springs that help jack up the back of the rv. is this true? and how much do they jack it up??? inches, feet??

    thanks, newbie noreen

  8. ok, so i am all excited because i just bought my first rv. a 94 winnebago warrior!! now, much to my chagrin, i am worried as i just found a warning label on the inside of the driver sun visor that says....

"Warning, this vehicle may contain small amounts of one or more substances which are listed by the state of CA for causing cancer and reproductive toxicity."

also, there is another sticker that says something about CFC.

does anyone know anything about this? the rv is originally from California.

when i do go inside the rv, i get a "new car" smell.....

  9. hi,

you absolutely can make it where you need to go with a 6cyl toy rv. i just got back from a maiden voyage in mine. just bought it and took it out to 3 of colorados knarliest mountain passess... cottonwood, hoosier, and monarch pass. it went up like a champ with O/D on at about 40 miles per hour. dont expect anything faster. did great!!! i was so impressed. go for it and have fun

  10. Hi,

you are so wonderful to share all of your great info. hopefully i can make it to Jackson Hole and Telluride and steamboat this winter..... is your toy rv a 4 wheel drive??

if you think of anything else - please feel free to share. i Really appreciate it!!!

  11. hi foxy,

i just bought a 94 warrior with such hopes of putting on a hitch and towing my light drift boat. i love to fly fish,. much to my chagrin, i was told that no hitch could be put on due to the chassis style???? i have seen many toy rv's with tow hitches. i just want to be safe but really need to tow my drift boat (approx 800 lbs max with trailer) any suggestions?? i have hope to know that you tow a sailboat......

  12. i keep hearing about people getting 18 to 19 mpg in their toy rv. is there anything i can to to improve my mileage??? i am avg. about 14- 15 mpg. i have a 6 cyl 94 toy winnebago warrior. i drive fairly conservatively and do not go over 60 miles an hour. i am religious about the o/d off when going up hills. is there any modification i can do to improve my gas mileage???

  13. i live in the mountains and want to do some winter camping. i like to ski and would like to chase some storms and ski powder. i just got a 94 winnebago warrior. any suggestions on how to make my rv warm and comfie in the winter?????

  14. i just bought a 94 winnebago warrior with a generator that runs (only 52 hours) but does not get power to appliances. and the appliances work when i am hooked up to electric.

what kind of built in generator should i get?? i want the most power for the quietest. thanks in advance for your kindness.....

  15. hello out there... i am looking for a used (obviously) toy rv that is 4 wheel drive. does anyone have experience with these for winter camping??? i need advice and recommendations as i want to do some winter camping and may experience below zero temps??? should i even attempt this???

also, does anyone know where i can get a good used generator???

    thanks so much,

    newbie noreen

  16. Hi Dennis, thanks so much for your help. i am disappointed as i have seen many toy rv's towing things. is it too much of a risk to try to tow a small dory.....

also, do you know where i can get a used generator???

  17. None of the Toyota motorhomes were built to handle a tow hitch. If you look under the

rear end you will notice that the truck frame stops a foot or two from the rear bumper

and the only support is usually from angle iron supports that are mainly strong enough

to just support the floor and hold the bumper on..

Those that have a trailer hitch had some custome welding done, they had to have some extra

supports added to shore up the area between the truck frame and rear bumper. This only solves

the support issue. The Toyota rear suspension is pretty much at max load and anything you

end up towing will probably exceed your rear suspension capability. The next issue is the

RVs braking system, it is also pretty much at max capability without the extra weight pushing

on it. Another item is your tires would experience more load. Most hitch places (if not all) will

not attempt to do the work since the liability could come back to them.
