I have the same unit the spare was under the back the orignal owner moved it to the rear bumper,as to adding a hitch I seen it done but you have to figure how to keep the weight off the rear end not much support in the back with (all that overhang) would really have to be done right.

I've got a 92 winne same V6&auto running ac at 60 to 65 average over 13 I am sure if there was no wind and level it would be over 14,did replace fan clutch temp is fine about 1/2 way on the gauge. with the wiegh I would not feel comftable over 70 if you have a blowout I think it would be all over the road or upside down to much weigh thier really maxed out.

I have a 91 v6 winne I think the axel thing was taken care of a few years before,however the rear wheel bearings have to be packed with grease on mine ,not oiled from the rear end. My temp runs a little over half on a hot day with a clean raditor. Tom
