  1. No one in their right mind would build a full floating duel wheel rear with bearings that require short term maintenance the whole ideal behind a heavy duty rear is to run them hundreds of thousands of miles. There is no seal inside of the axle tube oil is going to run into the bearings like it or not. Gear oil is a far better lube for bearings then grease it stays put. The pinion bearings and the carrier bearings run forever in gear oil. Think about this every other full floating rear has gear oil lubed bearings no exceptions why would Toyota reinvent the wheel?

i don't know why but they did it on my 1986 odyessey

  2. Thanks for your help and advice on this. I finally have my hands on the proper full-floater! It took many hair-pulling hours of searching, but I eventually got one from a salvage yard, and they actually shipped it to my local yard (70+ miles) with no additional charge. Alas; however, someone had already scavanged the wheels off the thing! So now the search is on for the correct wheels. Does anyone happen to have the specs on the wheels?

Maybe this will help --last year i went Les Schwab tire looking for new tires and a rim for a spare-- the salesman, don't remember his name, made a call to california and got one for me--the only bad part was the rim was over $100.00. it was my lucky day i had already went to toyota dealers , custom wheel places ect. the tire dealder (Les Schwab) i went to is located 3235 west 5400 south Salt lake city utah 801 968 6002

  3. Thanks a lot Greg. I will be waiting for your second reply.

If anyone would like more info on the fuel tank upgrade, just let me know.

I also installed a large power inverter, a 100 watt solar panel charge system and a second coach deep cycle battery.

    Lee

got any pictures of those gas tanks? are they forward of the differential or behind it?

thanks to the help of this forum, i have located tranny relay, but not the senser, the one i thought was the temperature senser was the temp sensor for the dash guage. but today is just starting and i can make everthing work bypassing the senser wire, so untill i discover the hidding little senser i just wont use overdrive till engine is warmed up.

tranny is aisin borg warner ltd model 03-71, and i see no senser on it.

the relay is fastened to the bracket that suports the break or clutch pedals it even says overdrive relay on it,

    thanks again.
