It isn't you, I have the same gripe. In fact, here in NC, people will cut me off just to turn off at the next exit or into their favorite fast food joint.

I know exactly where it is located. I'll check it out when I get home, I also ordered a solar battery maintainer so that the battery can stay fully charged.

Purchased this coachmen 2 summers ago. I've not had any problems with it until the coach battery went under the weather. The wiring in the coach battery compartment has 2 red wires of the same gauge. My dilemma is I'm not sure which wire is the ground and which is the hot wire since both are routed back inside the coach wall. Would the hot wire have power to it when the engine is running? Thanks

Where exactly is the isolater? Since everyone describes it as similar to a Ford selonoid I have an idea what it should look like. I have an '86 so would that have the mechanical or solid state isolater?

While we're discussing the AC system, about how much of a mileage hit will a 22RE take? The previous owner removed the compressor hose and I haven't been running with AC, just open the vent windows.

Found a broken wire on the OD selenoid, fixed it and the OD works just fine now. Cruise is my next thing to fix.

Was installing my new tranny oil cooler today and troubleshooting the OD as well. Got to checking the selonoid and discovered the wire was broken. Can't the other end of the wire and can't find a decent schematic of the system. Where does the wire on the selonoid connect to? I thought it might be the temp sensor but can't seem to find that either.

I've tried it both ways with no success. Is there any way to check the OD relay to see if it is bad?

I am a new member of the board. My name is Lance Andrus. I live in Fayetteville, NC and I have a 1986 Coachmen with a 22RE automatic and the 1 ton axle. My issue is this, since I bought my RV, the OD has not seemed to work. The light on the dash works when I push the OD button, but the tranny doesn't seem to shift. Currently I'm getting around 11 mpg. Can anyone suggest a possible reason the OD isn't working and how I can check this out. Another issue is the fuel gauge. It usually reads empty, even when the tank is full. I assume that this is a sending unit issue since it will rise and show the correct level on occasion. My cruise control doesn't work either. I've never been able to troubleshoot cruise control problems, so if anyone can offer some help I would be very grateful. I look forward to some very rewarding times with the members of this board.
