Hi, everyone. I have an 84 Sunrader 4X4. I've had it since '96 but the last couple of years, it's been "resting" with friends while I did other things. I've got it back now and the poor baby needs some care. The clutch broke completely and it had to be towed across the country to me. I've replaced the clutch, but one thing I'm concerned about is the 4 wheel drive. I doubt anyone has used it in two years and I'm wondering, can I just try it and see if it works? What I mean is, if it doesn't, will something go horribly wrong and break and the thing won't move at all, like what happened with the clutch? Or will it just maybe not work and I could put it back in 2 wheel and drive to a transmission shop?
I've always been a little fuzzy on the transmission stuff but before I had a husband who understood these things. Alas, the Sunrader outlasted the marriage and now I need to figure out a few things on my own.
I was concerned about the lube. I remember lubing the undercarriage at certain points every now and then. Should I lube it before trying it? I'm positive it hasn't been done in quite some time.
