  1. Dennis, we took a 3 week trip last summer from Tampa area to N.J. and then across to Niagara Falls. We had Clancy {21ft Warrior} on two ferries with no problem. The OB is rv friendly but dont try to drive on the beach. The sand is soft and trucks get stuck. the locals let the air out of their tires but i was not up for that. The fishing was a big disappointment as summer is not their fishing season. We did not make any reservations as we were not sure of our itinirary, and had no problems finding campgrounds. As always the state park campgrounds are cheaper. It was a great trip. If you have any questions email me . Ken{coach] kgill@pasco.k12.fl.us

  2. Hey Nick, My 91 Warrior is in the shop right now fixing the expansion valve ( whatever that is, I am no mechanic) . My honest mechanic said it is a big deal because the dash must be removed. I guess it will be pricey but we are leaving on a 30 day trip and must have it. he did however tell me that they stick and I should drive around with the air on and it could work its way loose. I only drive it on trips so that didn't work. Good Luck with yours. Ken

  3. Hey all'

Obviously there are people who just wont take no (as in towing) for an answer , in spite of all the warnings. I personally choose not to tow, although when I first bought my toy I considered it. Thanks to all of your warnings , you probably saved mine and my families lives. Last week I saw a toy pulling a box-truck as long as the camper (20ft). I hope he finds this forum. People please listen to these guys, they know what they are talking about!! Obviously it would be nice to have all of our toys with us but it is just not worth the risk. Happy and safe camping to all. COACH

  4. It's very clearly stated in your owners manual that your Toyhome is not suited for towing anything. You are already at GVW and any added hitch would be on the end of 4' frame extensions that are already stressed.

I rant on this subject often, but still those that are much smarter than me insist on towing because someone else they know "has never had an accident towing their (fill in objects name here)" so therefore it is safe.

The brakes are already at max rating, the frame has been overextended and the tires may be near their maximum load. In reality a true "Professional" hitch shop won't even put a hitch on a Toyota motorhome because they know it's already overloaded.

    But I can only suggest...

  5. There are 2 toys for sale on the Tampa Bay craigslist. One is a Chinook 78 for 1800 kinda rough. It has 61000 miles on it. The other looks like a Dolphin 85 with 115000 miles. Just in case any one is interested.

  6. Shoprat, You obviously are more tech savvy than art/paint savvy. {Thank God} Even I can tell it is a fake. {again Thank God} Thanks for the humor none-the-less. We all need it in these frigid months. 32 in Tampa Bay. Have a good one. Coach

  7. I saw with interest the post a few threads down about the paint job done on a Yota MH. I thought that maybe it was time to get rid of the Beige thingy from the mid 80's and bring the appearance in line with the 21st century. In this vein, I decided to go the route of the popular tv show that makes over semi tractors and touch base with my inner Picasso. This is my first attempt at the photoshop thingy, trying to get an idea of what my efforts would produce. I would like to get you folks input on my efforts.
  8. does anyone know where i can get a light weight box to mount over the rear bumper or i will have my frame re inforced and put a trailer hitch cargo rack system... any suggestions

Hey BB I got mine at Harbour Freight for 55 bucks. It sure comes in handy for coolers and fishing stuff. Good luck, Coach (Ken)

  9. Hey guys and gals

My 91 Toy Warrior did not come with a spare rim/tire. I cant seem to find one. I have a local tire store manager looking but no luck. Are these hard to find or am I not asking /looking properly? Thanks Coach

  11. On our trip to the keys [from Tampa] , flat all the way, we got 12.5 on every tank. I complained at every gas station until I got home and started to unload. A full hour straight of just unloading . That included two kayaks inside! Its a wonder I got double digits.

    Thanks to all , Coach.
