  1. Thank you all! I have an 87 Dolphin, the 900 model. My Toyhome has the setup where the camp battery is charged by my engine battery, and i have an inverter that was wired in by the previous owners. I think they primarily ran on propane and used the inverter for hair dryers and charging cell phones, etc. I have been researching and it looks like i *could* run the fridge off the inverter, but i need to see if that is how they wired things up.. i have some more exploring to do... i will look for the little door....i looked the whole camper over before and after i bought it a few times, and i don't recall seeing that..
  2. This is great! I would rather run off electric - i am not skilled enough or prepared enough to start converting my LP systems into electric (YET), but I am excited to get more ideas!
  3. This is a rookie question, but - how do you plug in? I think mine is propane only. It shows an electric option, but i have looked and don't see anywhere to plug in to external power... I had a friend who is an experienced RVer look for it, too, and she could not find it.
  4. I have the exact same one! I am curious if you have any issues with your fridge once you get the propane set up- that is the one area i still have not quite figured out on mine- i have been using my camper without the propane -even though it works! I am a total newbie- it makes me nervous to run the propane while driving...
  5. https://www.coachspecialists.com/best-rv-floor-coverings-choice-tips-dallas-rv-repair-shop/ https://www.icorkfloor.com/water-resistant-flooring-cork-flooring/ I definitely won't paint the floor, and i am assuming that it will probably be uneven. vinyl might not be feasible if the floor is really uneven..
  6. THANK you! I have been researching options, and was leaning towards vinyl, but was concerned about possible moisture- have you looked at cork? Someone else used it, and it seems good on first and second review, but I don't personally know anyone who has time-tested it. I am CHOMPING at the bit to get this remodel started, and trying not to get overwhelmed by: 1. my complete lack of experience 2. ALL THE THINGS THAT NEED DOING I will most likely just start by ripping out ALL the carpet (and alll the staples) and go from there. Once I begin, I will be galvanized (assuming i don't find a black hole in the floor once I start ;p)
  7. this is inspiring! I REALLY want to do some work on my 87, but have not had the combination of time/energy/funds just yet. my biggest need/want is to get RID of the carpet- kiddo and i are both allergic to dust, and it makes it hard to sleep in the camper. I am curious- has anyone ripped out the carpet and actually camped like that, before installing wood or laminate or whatever floors?
  8. Har Har ;} Thank you! Will snap some shots when back at home. I have a BUNCH of other projects to tackle with this rig, but this one is a consistent challenge.
  9. Thank you!!! I did not see any like that last time I looked underneath, but that looks like a good solution. It does seem to be both ends, but the rear is the worst.
  10. hi everyone! TOTAL newbie here: I am going to apologize in advance for anything obtuse I say as I am not just learning about my rig from the ground up, but most vehicles in general (was never interested in the details until I got my rig.) SO- my issue is this: my Dolphin DRAGS so low that I scrape over every speedbump, every driveway, no matter how slowly or carefully I handle it/angle it. I would really love a little LIFT in my system so I can not only overcome this annoyance, but also feel more confident on uneven terrains and more longevity for everything on my undercarriage! Any suggestions on what would be the most affordable long term solution? Preferably not DIY at this point, as I would probably screw it up. Maybe after I learn a bit more, I will take on those projects!
