  1. Thanks for the response.  Tried gas for about six hours yesterday, and got heat in the stack, but no cooling.  Then tried electric overnight, and nothing.  It was working fine with either last summer.   Is there anything that might be the problem, that I can fix?

My refrigerator just quit also.  93 Winnebago Warrior.  On propane, the boiler was hot to the touch, but did not cool the fridge.  Saw your comment about cleaning the boiler stack, but can't figure how to get to it.  It goes straight up about 3 feet inside the wall.  Did you mean get on the roof and remove the vent?  I am now trying electric but don't have high hopes. 

  3. I don't care about taking it out and setting it on the ground, I just want to be able to stow it.  Are you suggesting adding a bumper trailer hitch and a rack or box on the rear?  Do you think it would make the front end a little unstable to drive with weight on the rear bumper?

  4. Does anyone know of a generator to fit in the space for it?   My 1993 Winnebago Warrior has a space 18" long, 18" wide, and 15" high, measuring the opening to get the generator into it.  I saw the Onan 2.8 mentioned, but that one costs about $2400.  any others known?

Well, we got an answer.  Remember, the motor started idling rough, then about a day later, the check engine light came on.  Guess what?  it was a spark plug wire worn through the insulation shorting against a metal pipe, EGR I think he said.  The check engine light said it was something causing too lean a fuel mixture.  That was not even close. Anyway, we replaced all the spark plugs and wires, and it runs perfectly.  The mechanic said it had the wrong spark plugs anyway.  Now it has all new hoses and belts, new timing belt, new shocks, all kinds of great updates.  Now trying to get the refrigerator to work.  Not getting anywhere.

  6. Wow, great advice from all.  I like it.  We dropped it off at Suburban Toyota today, and they had vertical clearance and an adequate lift.  They confirmed that the head gasket was changed on it. We'll see what they come up with.  Yes, Oreilly Auto parts code reader couldn't identify the vehicle, even with an OBI reader connected to the right place.  There was a green connector right front under the hood.   Dan, my father-in-law had the same "guess" about the vacuum leak.  (He is 87 years old, retired experimental mechanic for Ford Motor Co. at Dearborn headquarters).  He said the same thing you did.   That's high praise.  ( He lives about 5 hours from us, and therefore  is not much help).  Thanks to all.  I have a lot to learn about Fred.  Looking forward to it.

I'm new here, just bought a 93 Toyota Winnebago Warrior.  Drove it 1200  miles to get it home.  Started idling rough, then the Check engine light came on.  I drove it between 60 and 65 MPH.  Is that too fast?  Some Toyota dealers are now telling me they will not work on it.  But I found one that will. The RV dealers apparently don't work on engines.  Would a Toyota dealer be the best place?  My father in law thinks it might be the vacuum.  An auto parts store couldn't get their code reader to identify the vehicle.  Ideas?
