  1. I have a 21 ft Toyota Sunrader that I recently purchased. Wanted to get some peoples opinions about traveling in their RV with 4 or more people. My Sunrader has the dinette in the back with the large windows where the 2 or 4 people would have to sit, seatbelted in for travel.

Is this a comfortable and safe way to travel  for kids or adults?

Do your  passengers move around the cabin while driving?

    Thanks,

    Aaron

  2. Thanks Wensun for the advice. I think I will try making the new windows with the Lexan MR10. The thing I'm worried about is I don't have an old window to base the new window off of. Thinking I can make a  pattern by taping paper to the window opening and tracing it out.  Will need to shorten the pattern to account for the seal. Worried about forming the curve.  Any ideas?

  3. Hello TM group,

Just purchased a 1989 21ft. Sunrader. So Stoked! But there's a lot of work the little lady needs. First, a set of front windows. I read as many post on here as I could about the subject. All seem to be a year or more old. Is there any new info about sourcing some reasonable priced windows? Or is Advanced in Nor-Cal the only way to go. Also thinking of going the DIY route after reading others success in the DIY. Anyone try any different materials besides Plexiglass?

I found a pair on CL but they are off of a 1980  18ft and have a width 15-1/2. My width is 12-1/2 top to bottom opening. Could I buy them and cut them down to size?  If the length is the same to.

    Thanks for your help,

    Aaron

  4. Congratulations on your Sunrader.  I'm currently talking to the owner of a 1986 Sunrader and trying to figure out a fair price.  The RV needs the engine replaced or rebuilt 197,000 miles on her. Interior needs to be cleaned up.

May I ask what you paid for your Sunrader?

Most Sunraders I see are in good condition original and less  100,000  mikes on them.

You can see my post to the form and see pictures. 1986 Sunrader 21ft. Help

  5. Thanks Linda, I was thinking of offering some where around $4000.  I think a rebuild engine plus instillation will cost $3000 to $3500.  Anyone know?

RV would still have 179,000 on the odometer.

Then I still have to fix everything else, plumbing, electrical, interior, tires, alignment.

$7000 + a new engine would be $10k into it and not close to mint condition.

  6. Hello TM community,

I found this Sunrader.  My girl and I are hoping to purchase, fix up and see all the National Park in the US.  Wanted to ask for the groups help in what a fair purchase price would be for this 1986 Sunrader 21 ft. in it's current condition. I have no idea on pricing a motor-home from 1986. Owner bought it 8 years ago for $7,000 and lived out of it. Exterior is in good shape, interior needs to be cleared out and cleaned up. I have been looking at what similar Sunraders are going for on Craigslist but prices are all over the place. Would appreciate any help in the right direction.

This is what I know about the overall condition based on what the owner has told me and a quick walk through.

    197,000 Miles

Owner says that mice have eaten some of the wiring in the engine compartment so it may not start.

Engine smokes out the back. Owner thinks the  engine needs to be rebuild or replaced. Any ideas on what this would cost?

    Tires – newish?

    Breaks – newish?

    Electrical – ?

    Plumbing – has a leek

    Fridge – old, works

    Stove – works

Cabin A/C works broken outer shell

    Propane Heater – works

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Also anything that I should know on fixing up the RV. Renovation costs? Pictures below.

    Thanks,

    Aaron
