Like I said, not too daunting. Lol.

Thanks, I understand what your saying, but I can't help but wonder what it would take to turn it into a generator box. Aside from venting, cooling, insulating, is it merely a matter of strengthening the box? the inverter only weighs 48 pounds, so it doesn't seem like I would have to beef it up too much.

My 88 Sunrader has a rear bathroom, and behind the stool is a closet that has a storage space underneath it that is accessible from the outside. I have a Champion 2000 watt Inverter that looks like it would set in there with room to spare. Does that seem like a viable idea? I think I would prefer that to having it on the rear bumper. Has anyone here ever done that? It doesn't seem like it would be too daunting. Fueling might be an issue.

I'm sorry, $329.

I bought one of these on sale at a Fleet Farm store in Iowa for $259. So far very happy with it. http://www.championpowerequipment.com/products/inverters/73536i-2000w-inverter/

That generator install has me thinking. Hmmm. Makes me wonder how collectible they might be.

https://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/rvs/6101270602.html found this on CL this morning. Had no idea something like this even existed. I assume it still means the deadly duallys are still an issue. I can't imagine there are many of them left.

Thanks for the link Linda. The aluminum underbelly is interesting, it seems like it could possibly warp over time. Does anyone know if a sagging floor is a dangerous situation? It doesn't look to me like things could just fall apart, but then I have a lot to learn about these coaches.
-
Thanks Linda, I did go underneath, and everything seems solid enough, so it's puzzling. Do you know how thick the floor is?

G'day all, I have posted recently about an 88 Sunrader I picked up, and I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. While looking either way down the coach, I notice that things like the stove, or the back of the dinette seat are slightly tilted toward the outside wall. Is this normal, or am I possibly dealing with a sagging frame for some reason? I live in the Midwest, so there is rust, but I didn't think it too bad when I inspected it before the buy.

Having sold the Sunrader I had previous posts about, I immediately came across another, and was luckily able to acquire it. It's a 1988 21' Sunrader Classic. It's in pretty nice shape, but the Storage pod on the back bumper is missing the lid. I assume finding one will probably never happen, so I'm wondering, does anyone here know of a viable replacement?

I recently had a few posts here about a 1980 Sunrader, and whether or not to swap the rear axle. I am grateful for all the help i was given, but once again things have changed. I sold the 1980, for a nice profit, which I was also grateful for, and then almost immediately came across a 1988 Sunrader sitting next to someone's garage. I asked if they wanted to sell it, and they said sure, because they never used it. I got the impression it may have been willed to them. Anyway, It's a 22RE Automatic. It hadn't been started in quite a while, but over all seems to be in pretty decent shape. I don't care for there rear bathroom, much preferred the rear dinette, but it's roomier which makes my wife happy, and well, we all know how that goes. So, it was about 50 miles from the house, and coming home I could never get it over 60 MPH, overdrive was absolutely not an option. and just as I was turning onto my street it started cutting out, and died right in the driveway. it started right up, but was running quite rough. It was late so I parked it. Now it seems to run fine until it warms up, and then it seems like it's dropping a cylinder or something. Runs very rough, even if you give it gas. I did the Diagnostic jump between T and E1, but it flashes 5 times then pauses for about 2 seconds, and flashes five more times, with a total of three groups of five with 2 second pauses. I'm assuming that indicates a code of 50, but I can't find a site that shows a 50 code. I would sure appreciate any thoughts?

Linda, Derek, Thanks again for the info. Today and the weekend is mostly going to be taken up with house projects, but I will digest all this starting next week. I should ask though, in regards to the axle that I am now not going to buy. What would be the best way on this site to disseminate the info. I won't post the gentleman's personal information, but if anyone is interested in buying it, I will certainly do what I can make sure the connection gets made. It's a 1 ton full float axle, differential, springs and all four rims. Came from an 80s Toyota Fleet Truck, what ever that means.
