  1. i havent been able to light my pilot light to my hot water heater. i read some things trying to maybe understand why it wouldnt light. my propane throughut the coach works great, read somthign that said if the hot water tank is empty the pilot wont light. not sure if that is true. also im not hooked up to a hose always, i usally just fill my fresh water tank whenvever its empty, could that be an issue? if the hot water tank is empty how do i fill it? i read that if i keep my water pump on it will automatically fill it from my fresh water tank. is this true? any advice greatly appreciated! thanks in advanced
  2. what is yellow tape and where doi buy some? thank u for advice! greatly appreciated
  3. thank you! very helpful. is there anything wrong with doing it this way? just unnatatching the hose and regulater from on board tank and reconnecting it to a 5 gal?
  4. I currently live in my 87 Odyssey on some property and have it all jacked up and would rather not drive it off the property to fill up the propane. Is it pretty easy to hook up an external propane tank to the other one and how do I do it? That way I could just throw the external one in the car and go get it filled when I need to. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much in advanced! woolf
  5. Oh ok that helped a lot. Found it. I don't think it is caught because the switch moves up and down doesn't get stuck.
  6. im pretty inexperienced when it comes to electrical endeavors. when i get the box out and take it apart what will the relay switch look like? where will i find it ? and if i disconnect battery and unplug from shore power will there still be high voltage? ps thank u so much for ur help. ur advice is very appreciated
  7. where would i find the relay switch here are some images of the charging system.. ( i think)
  8. my twelve volt battery is charged and it is getting charged when i am plugged into shore power as well as when i drive my rig around. however my light on the charging sentenial that says charging doesn't come on while plugged into shore power nor does anything work on twelve volt. when im plugged into shore power all my electricity works but if i'm not running shore power my charged 12v battery is not powering anything. i'm thinking there is obviously a problem in the wiring between my 12 volt battery and the house. i checked the connection on the 12v battery and it was secure. don't know where else to look. does anyone know where i could find a wiring diagram for an 87 odyssey? or have any advice of things to check? could i be having converter issues.
  9. i have a pretty new deep cycle battery. no more then six months old. i was parked in my rv staying over night in front of a friends house plugged into shore power. my battery light was on saying charging for a while. the light started blinking which to my understanding of my rig means the battery is 90 % full. i decided to turn my fridge on and run it off 12v and the light stopped blinking and went back to red. ( thought this was a good idea for some reason...) woke up and little red light that says my battery is charging no longer was on but i was still running on shore power and electricity was working fine from shore power. wen i turned shore power off and tried to run my lights off of 12v they wouldn't turn on. i clicked on my panel that says waste tank fresh water grey water and battery life levels to check what my battery life was and it didn't turn on. i then thought to turn on the car thinking that the alternator would start to repower the 12v but for whatever reason i kept the shore power on and checked my battery life again. it came on for a second and then died. thought maybe it just needed to stay plugged in to charge without fridge or anything on. so left it plugged in for a while and that didn't help. now looking into it i am reading that i most likely killed my deep cycle battery. does anyone know if this is correct? any advice? any tricks? could it be anything else?
  10. could you explain to me about how they work a little because the ones i see are hookups through the cigarette lighter and then other have ability to clamp to battery. would i want to clamp to battery under the hood or would i want to clamp to deep cycle battery or neither?
  11. looking into buying a inverter porbably around 500w anyone have any suggestions on ones they use that work well for them? thanks!!
  12. i bought a 87 toyota odessey recently. have been fixing it up and am gonna do a couple of small trips soon. have been working on it and running the electrical off of the 12v battery to power the house. haven't plugged into shore power yet. the propane connection works and the stove lights up . was wondering about how i make the heat work and the hot water heater work, from what i've read i understand i need to light pilot light. how do i do that? once it's lit, will i be able to just have hot water on a whim or is there something more i have to do? also does anyone know about working the furnace? where would i find controls of turning furnace on and off if it gets cold at night. sorry for the newbie questions just trying to gain as much knowledge as i can and make as little mistakes as possible. thanks guys!
