doktasoohs Posted March 14, 2005 Share Posted March 14, 2005 hey all, new guy here, am about to buy a toyota motorhome but i have two things driving this, a pricetag of around 5,000.00 and i want a shower. i am also interested in possibly towing my 4x4 with it which ways 1700 lbs (suzuki samurai) but i am aware they arent set up for towing, i am a good welder and fabricator. any thoughts? advice? do i need a 6 cylinder to tow? WME Posted March 16, 2005 Share Posted March 16, 2005 Something that heavy a V-6 is a must. You should also plan on reinforcing the frame welds were the extenstions are welded on. Most are just butt welded. Better gears like 4.56 or 4.88 and a bigger trannie cooler. Your towd needs working brakes cause the Toy is already overloaded as far as brakes go.
