Razengan Posted February 12 Posted February 12 So as the title states, I lost the key for my 1986 Dolphin. I bought it a few years ago as a project and then life got in the way and I ended up joining the army and moving away. I’m home now for a little while and wanting to move it to a new spot in the yard that’s more protected from the elements so I can possibly try fixing it up again but I can’t seem to find the key. Any ideas on how I can get a new one? I imagine as old as it is I could probably start it without the key just so I can move it but a new key would be the ideal solution. Any help would be appreciated! Quote
Ctgriffi Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Have you tried taking the VIN (and your title) to a Toyota dealer yet? I would think they could make you a copy. Quote
extech Posted February 12 Posted February 12 steering column locks so you couldn't move it anyhow Quote
IdahoDoug Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Inside the door of the cab, Toyota puts the key number, which the dealer will need. I'm fairly sure it is the passenger door. Google it to be sure, but you have to remove the interior trim panel and possibly the lock mechanism itself to provide the number. They can make you a new key with that number. Quote
V6 Seabreeze 92 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Last year I misplaced my original Toyota logo key, Toyota dealer in my area made me couple of origina Toyota logo keys from the VIN number for $11 each. Quote
