MaineJed Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 The smoke test confirmed the manifold and/or gasket is leaking. Torn into it this morning, waiting on a new gasket that should be here tomorrow. Anyone want to buy a good EGR or Reed Valve let me know. Quote

MaineJed Posted July 23, 2025 Author Posted July 23, 2025 Yes it came out rough, most want you to take out the PS pump but you can snake it around. It is a lot easier if you unhook an A/C line to get to the middle bottom bolt. Had to cut 2 of the bolts that hook on to the crossover pipe, but easy studs to replace. LC Engineering delete kit I’m using Quote

LC Engineering delete kit I’m using I always dread a manifold removal. The manifold on my 22re toyhome was a royal pita. Quote
Ssunrader Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 Make sure and check the manifold for warping. Did the delete kit come with a resistor to trick the ecu into thinking it has a preferable signal from the feedback temperature sensor? Usually you want some way to reduce or eliminate any bad effects from removing it, ie a lean condition. Quote
MaineJed Posted July 24, 2025 Author Posted July 24, 2025 Done, definitely runs smoother now. I’ll see what side effects we have. Better MPG and power would be nice Quote
Ssunrader Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 (edited) Glad to hear it’s running better. If you can find a better catalytic converter, the factory setup is pretty restrictive. The concern I had with that was more about reducing the heat in the heads more than performance/fuel economy but it can be a nice improvement. Edited July 26, 2025 by Ssunrader Quote
MaineJed Posted August 12, 2025 Author Posted August 12, 2025 Update: Took a 120 mile trip, MPG did not improve. The power and response was night and day though, Finest kind! Quote
