Odyssey 4x4 Posted October 31 Author Posted October 31 Being in Indiana and on our way to Florida I don’t have the room to carry them, they’ll be spending the rest of their lives in Indiana until they’re recycled haha Quote
IdahoDoug Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Well, you sure gave it the old college try in terms of repairing the old ones. That was a bullet dodged. How was the service at Tire Rack's HQ? They did mine right in their HUGE warehouse and let me sit and watch. I was pleasantly surprised by that as most places would usher you into a waiting area, cite liability, etc. These went on my Toyota LandCruiser which has very expensive forged alloys on it and I'm a bit anally retentive about tires. They accommodated that handily. Quote

I asked if I could remove the tire in the parking lot and bring it in and they said no due to liability issues! I told them I was basically in the parking lot with a flat. I pulled my (flat) spare off of the back of the rv and had them change that one first. I then drove down the road to a gas station and swapped it out, took the other tire back and repeat. We are now sitting on two new rear rims. We’re gonna check out the RV Museum here in Elkhart and hit the road in the morning. Quote
WME Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) What rim did you get, did Tire Rack make any comments about the Pro Comp rims. To bad the old skool Jackman steel rims aren't around any more. Edited November 1 by WME Quote

Perhaps they’d have something else to say if I had purchased these rims from them and not elsewhere. I went with the “Vision D Window” rim since it was in stock and affordable. I’m not sure if i’ll put the same rims on the front when I get home or change to a 16” rim for more strength? We’ve driven about 160 miles so far today with no issues, smooth cruising and good weather. Regardless, we visited / boondocked the RV and manufactured home museum and hall of fame in Elkhart, Indiana. That place was epic!! Quote
Ssunrader Posted November 1 Posted November 1 That is very cool to have seen the RV museum, thanks for sharing! Quote

I could post more photos but don't want to flood this posting. We drove about 375 miles today trouble free. Currently in Kentucky at a cracker barrel. Quote
IdahoDoug Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Yes! Post some more photos - that's a "must see" for us classic RV owners for sure. Sure am sorry the TR did not roll out the red carpet for you. Must have been the millennial at the counter. Argh. Quote
Odyssey 4x4 Posted November 5 Author Posted November 5 made it safely back to home in florida on the new rear rims! 6 week/3400 miles trip complete and the odyssey did great. Now I just have to decide if i want to order two more of these rims for the remaining wheels, or go with all new 16” rim for a higher load rating, bust that also includes having to buy all new rubber which hurts considering my bf all terrains have less than 10,000 miles on them. WME Posted November 5 Posted November 5 IMHO get 2 rims and driver your rig for a year and see if you NEED the 16" rim and tire. Quote
