shaunydaun Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 (edited) I had my tank filled yesterday at uhaul. It took 20 minutes to fill it 2 pounds. The gauge now reads 75%. We smell propane inside of the camper now. It's worse when we roll the cab windows down. I have turned off the fridge and ensured there are no open valves on the stove. Any tips? Scott iv Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Unfortunate. Turn off your propane at the tank by closing the valve. Air out the camper by opening the windows and waiting. The smell lingers so air it out good. Nice to have another person help as one turns on the propane while the other is at the connection fittings of each of your propane appliances one by one. Spray the connections with soapy water and watch for bubbles while your teammate turns the propane on and off. The stove has fittings at each of the burners in addition to the line connection. If you're lucky and the leak is at a connection the remedy will be to tighten the connection. Quote
shaunydaun Posted July 3, 2024 Author Posted July 3, 2024 Thank you! We turned off the tank. We are going to buy a propane detector to start with. There is some question about whether or is propane. Then I have called a mobile repair company to assist. Quote

We think it might have just been stinky poo...ha! But the question remains, why did it take so long to ill the tank to only 75%? Has anyone else ever had issues filling their tanks? Quote
Ssunrader Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Might be good for peace of mind to get some soapy water in a spray bottle and check all the fittings around the lines, valve. Also, the level gauge isn’t too reliable on ours, is the original one. Can’t help with the other thing, lol! Not looking forward to that part of the RV experience myself… Quote
