Casey Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 My 1994 Winnebago Warrior seems to have a very small gasoline tank. We get about 14 miles to a gallon of gas, but the tank seems to be very small. Can I replace the gas tank with a larger one? Quote
Ssunrader Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 Let me know when you find one. I have investigated the idea a bit and haven’t found anything that I would trust filling with gasoline and driving on a public highway with my family inside. There were a couple that may have been able to be mounted on the outside of the frame, more of a hazard in the event of an accident than the more inboard mounted factory tank. That would need to be mounted on the opposite side as the exhaust also. The frame flexes and that has to be considered as well for mounting if spanning the rails. You can check to see if you already have the factory “17” gallon tank, should be about 37” long vs 31” for the 14 gallon. Quote
WME Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 (edited) Two fuel tanks may prove easier. Semi PIA, but two filler caps and a transfer pump would be easiest. Look for a Jeep cj-2 or cj-3 fuel tank. They fit under the drivers seat on a real jeep. You may have to move your spare tire. 29"L x 21"W x 11"H Edited August 7, 2024 by WME Quote
RDrewieske Posted June 1 Posted June 1 I had 14 gallon aluminum tank built and installed above my drive line ahead of main tank, my only regret is not having enough outlets for pressure equalization. Rick Quote

It took quite a bit of planning and custom work / fabrication to make it work but it is sweet to have. I also put a valve in to transfer fuel flow from auxiliary tank to main tank, as well as aux tank to a hose so that I can fill my motorcycle while traveling in the rv or help anyone out that I come across that may be out of fuel. This took an auxiliary fuel pump, custom wiring to dash, I used a sweet little auxiliary fuel tank gauge / transfer switch that I had to order from Australia, custom fuel filler door and fuel fill neck. I know how the main 19 gallon tank and the aux 15 gallon. Quote
Ssunrader Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Any pictures or tips for installing a Jeep tank? I have eyeballed a spot behind the rear axle, but is looked like the spare would likely have to be relocated.z Quote
