Mice??

Looked at a 91 dolphin today. I don’t have much info on it, other than it’s probably gonna be cheap. I do know it was stored inside, so water damage doesn’t look like an issue. It hasn’t been started recently.  tags say it’s been last registered in ’17

Could be a decent rig, looks well maintained, only has 51k on the clock.

But what concerned me was all the mice droppings! So much poop everywhere, not much evidence of damage inside the cabin, saw a couple of chew marks on the spark plug wires but not through. Couldn’t smell anything (it was only 37 degrees out)

What’s your guy’s opinion/experience? Do I run?

Mice are a fact of life. Going to be a drag cleaning all the nooks and crannies but finding a low mileage V6 Toyota camper might just be worth it. Clean ones can go for well over 20 grand. You need to check everything inside too. Have mice eaten the cushions, etc. You really need to try and get it started. Maybe see if you can find a mobile mechanic? Buy a battery? Whatever it takes to find out if there are more serious problems. Sounds like a deal to me

Bought ours for cheap $1500 BUT mice had lived in it for 2+ years just sitting there. 100+ hours later good to go. I echo what Linda said, check every nook and cranny, better to do it right once. Here are some before and after. Since done been on a few 4000+ miles trips! Enjoy it’s a labor of love

Thanks everybody, I appreciate the advice. Best case would be a deep clean, worst case would be gutting the carpet and walls and redoing wiring. Unfortunately it’s on a auction and I won’t be able to do any real checking on wiring and such

Be care mice can carry Henna versus don't mass around with dropping etc unless you are well masked and covered.
