JustJosh
I just got my 1986 Toyota Escaper out on the road again after replacing shocks and springs. This improved the ride a lot, but of course I still get blown around a bit, and uneven roads aren't fun either. I've made it a habit to not drive faster than 60 mph. I was curious what everyone's typical cruising speed was.
kevinchinook
Mine is a 1986 Sunrader Adventure. 22re with the auto transmission. I try to stay at 55 for the most part.
Scott iv
My 1987 Escaper 22re cruises best at 55-60. I do ride the interstates here with a 70mph speed limit and will hold it at 65. Wind and hills are significant factors in the vehicle.
MaineJed
I like to drive at 65 on the interstate, got it up to 78 once on the interstate, had to keep up.

Mine will typically hold 65 without a problem on the interstate as well, I just get jumpy when when a wind gust hits or I start getting buffeted around by the airflow from rigs. Of course, I try to stay off roads during high traffic times as well. Edited June 14, 2021 by JustJosh
mustrmrk
In our 22re '87 Escaper we try to go no slower than 20mph below the speed limit on the interstate, usually 55 in a 70 mph speed limit. We can go faster but our mileage drops from 14-15 to around 12. Our preferred speed is 45 to 50 - we really like taking slow route.
john*thomas
I've not driven a ton of miles in mine yet but being a V-6 it will keep up fine BUT I find it cruising nicely at 55. I also hate increasing the fuel consumption going much faster.
