123ko__ Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 I found this dolphin for sale and it is in great condition, however it is listed for pretty cheap. After doing some research I found some things about recalls on the axles of 1984 and prior and some of the 1985’s. This one is a 1985 and I was wondering if anyone could tell from the looks of it if it’s a recall or not. If so, would it be a bad decision to buy and is there any way it could be fixed? Quote
linda s Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 You need to show pictures of the rear wheels with the wheel covers off. It's the only way to tell. Have you looked at it in person? Are there more pictures in the ad for it. Linda S Quote
fred heath Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 You definitely want to look in person. There are scammers that post pictures they pulled from legitimate ads and repost. Usually happens on CL. If the price seems too good to be true, it’s probably a scam. Do not send any money for a deposit to hold. Quote
Maineah Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 What kind of money? If it low ball it's most likely a scam. Quote
123ko__ Posted October 29, 2020 Author Posted October 29, 2020 Here are the other photos. It was listed for 1,800 and she said I would pay the amount to eBay and it would be shipped to me and I would have 5 days to check it out before the money was released to her. Quote
linda s Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 Yes this is definitely a scam. eBay doesn't do that kind of money handling. If you buy on eBay you pay with your credit card or other venues. Also how could someone sell a clean motorhome for less than the cost of shipping. Please send us the link to the ad so we can get it taken down so someone else doesn't get scammed Linda S Quote
Maineah Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 That for $1800 would have lasted about 5 minutes even it had an old axle and was missing an engine! 12 grand would have been more like it! I'll bet even that picture was taken years ago. Quote
Gary_M Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 LOL but your wouldn't believe the scams out on eBay, I thought Craigslist was bad! This Dolphin "not new" has been sold 5 times, who knows maybe more. Guess the buyers thinks the lady comes with it. There are others, This Sun Land Express has been selling like hotcakes lately over an over, the same one, it's endless... Quote
