Dug
If breech joint means headgasket and you had the repair not long ago and It wouldn't hurt to ask. You will need all documents related to the work and I would hope your master mechanic has certifications to verify his expertise. Make sure you don't say it's a recall. It was a "special service campaign" program. Here is all the information about it. http://www.google.co...hUlCd3_VgILtC3A Linda S
steeve

Dug
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to respond. Has anyone ever obtained a cylinder head gasket change or received a refund for this repair in Canada? Steve, have you checked with Toyota USA? linda s
Well Steeve got a brand new engine out of it and there are others. Examples Cruisecontrol in Vancouver June 16, 2018 · IP Hi all, more info on this topic: getting a new starter motor and egr valve on my 1990 Toyota v6 and the mechanic informed me about the head gasket recall. I am in Canada. I called the closest dealership, gave my vin number, and was told yes it was on the list and they will do the head gasket. ???. Gave me an appt. then called back to say they needed to ‘inspect’ it first to make sure it hadn’t been done? It would take about an hour. I asked if I had to pay for that. They said they’d get back to me. Regardless, they are obviously still doing them. Boots from BC who had the work done elsewhere but still got a check from Toyota Posted June 25, 2014 · IP "... experienced a head gasket failure and arranged to repair it, the cost was approximately 3300.00. During the time the engine was being repaired, I surfed the internet and found about the warranty from a US site. When the engine was rebuilt, I drove it home, went to my local (Canadian) Toyota dealer, they confirmed that I was eligible for the warranty and ten days later handed me a cheque for the whole amount. Dug
I spoke to someone at the dealership who told me the campaign ended on September 24, 2018. He recommended that I call Toyota Canada, but told there is few chances. At Toyota Canada, I was told that there was nothing about my vehicle.
