rabbit
I just bought an 84 New Horizon and not sure the fuel gauge works. Does anyone know what the normal size is on this and the expected mpg. The 22R was rebuilt with larger cylinders to accommodate a 5th gear. So mileage is less than normal, maybe around 12 or 13 mpg. Another complication is the dash cluster was installed from a newer Toyota to have better gauges so my odometer is reading not accurate. Anyhoo, mainly want to know what the tank capacity is. Thanks
WME
"Normal" tank size is 17 gallons. Some "rare" Toys came with a 25 gallon optional tank, again very rare. The gas gauges are the same for the instruments. But the gauges are not very good. WAG at the E you have 2-3 gallons left. If its important there should be a drain plug in the tank, drain it carefully, pour in 5 gallons and head for the nearest gas station and top it off. Keep an eye on the gas gauge while your filling
Derek up North
Earlier models were 16.0 gallons. I'm not certain when the switch was made to 17.2 gallons. 1986 with the FF axle?
