jjrbus
Over on FB, Tom Fritz a rocket scientist came up with this idea for using standard LP tank. Seems like a great idea and I see no issue with it. Don't know how to make a link but here are the pictures he posted. Cut a round hole, Tom used an oil drain pan, but whatever is handy, add a hold down and good to go. If no one can find any reason not to do it, I may even do mine. linda s
Bottom of tank looks like it's exposed to road. You currently have ASME tank. Manufactured to higher standards. DOT tanks are supposed to be protected at least in some way Linda S

I have not looked at this before, wonder if the tanks on the front of travel trailers are manufactured to a higher standard?

88dolphin1
It looks like the tank was meant to be operated horizontally. I don't think it will deliver propane properly in a vertical position.
