Mirror lake highway; Wy and Ut.

Has anyone taken their rig on highway 150 south from Evanston to Kamas, Utah?

If so, what is this highway like?  How passable is it for our rigs?  

Am in a 1986 21' Sunrader and am considering a detour through this area.

Are the road super steep?  Am currently heavy laden with scooter in back, and fully outfitted.

I understand that there is a pass with 10k elevation?  Would enjoy the detour, yet I really do not want to stress the rig on this trip.

Please Advise.

Its a 40mi climb from  Evanston 6700 ft to 10000 to Mirror Lake. Lots of 5%+ grades. From Mirror Lake its a 10% climb to the pass at 10700+. Then its 20 mile down hill to Kamas. Miles of 5-7% down grades. In a 8.1 liter Winnie with 4 wheel disc brakes its tough, in an overloaded Toyota RV, nope, take the interstate

We have a 1982 21' Sunrader and we carry a 1968 Honda Trail 90 on the back bumper, a 50 pound generator under the bed and we go over 9,000+ foot passes.  We try to pick back roads whenever possible and travel when we think there might be less traffic (early morning).  We do what we can but it is not unusual to get down into first gear for awhile.  We pull over a lot to let others by. It is slow going but put on your hazard lights when going uphill and people will deal with it. There is the occasional jerk though. Paul & Jacki  on the Dragonfly
