Eric Day
My factory Kohler 2.5CMZ generator has been acting up...I believe the carb is gummed up. I bought a new one, and now on closer inspection it seems like the entire generator might have to be removed to get the carb out...hope I'm wrong. Anyone have experience removing their carb? Derek up North
Can't help you with the carb removal question, but here's a copy of the Manual (if you don't already have a copy). Kohler_p5418.pdf

Having no ideal how it's mounted in the camper you maybe able to remove the carb and manifold as one unit I'm figuring getting to the bolt on the engine side of the carb is going to be a treat from the picture in the manual. You should be able to just unbolt the intake manifold/carb/airbox as an assembly and pull it out. I believe you have the same setup as my Itasca. brucerhahn
Hello Eric, Can you point me to where you found the carb? I'm having the same gummed up problem with my Kohler 2.5CMZ. Thanks Bruce
brucerhahn
Anyone have a source for this 2.5cmz-21-rv carb? thanks
linda s
The best idea I can think of is to find a tecumsah carb that will fit. If you can find a local generator repair place they should know if it will. Linda S

linda s
Great post Dan. I saved it cause I have a Kohler too. I did think any parts were available anywhere for the Kohler RV generator but found the carb pretty quick with the parts PDF. https://www.colburnpower.com/kohler-part-a-228225-carburetor-incl-65-gasoline.html Linda S
