Hello everyone, Ive recently purchased a 78’ Sunrader knowing nothing about them really. I’ve only owned Toyota’s so I’m familiar with the truck. My plans include: 4x4 conversion, motor swap, pull the camper and deal with any rust before I start the interior remodel. I have gutted it due to a leaky roof and water damage which will need some attention. I’ve done some research now and have seen quite a few different models. The short short ones like mine that I’ve seen all have the door in the far back with the flip up panel. And I believe they don’t have a shower.. Does anyone have
Hello Toyota RV enthusiasts! I'm posting here as I await a test drive and mechanic's inspection of a 1985 Sunrader I am hoping to buy. I would greatly appreciate any info you can share regarding the rear axle issues related to this model. Based on my research it seems some Sunrader RVs have serious issues, depending on the year, 1/2 ton vs 1 ton axle, and other factors. It would appear that Sunraders with 1/2 ton rear axles and floating duallys with only 5 lug nuts are the culprits: so should I therefore only consider a Sunrader that has dually tires with 6 lug nuts on the 1 ton
My girlfriend and I moved into our 1985 Toyota Dolphin with the goal of driving to Chile from California. We spent months redoing the interior to turn it into our own home. Then Murphy's Law kicked in. A month and a half after crossing the border major car accident in Mexico. Well, we're rebuilding the old girl. Maybe I should say re-remodeling. This is the link to the total remodel plus pictures/story of the damage. Rebuild still in process! https://jacqui-belleau.squarespace.com/the-dolphin/
I recently purchased this little beauty. A 1983 21' Sunrader with 22R, 4 speed manual transmission. The interior and exterior are in very good to excellent condition considering she's 29 years old. I will add some more photographs in the next few days. I'm downsizing from a house and still trying to get all my gear to fit, so any interior pictures would be stacked boxes. I'm a newbie so any advice is always welcome. Anyone with a similar RV please email or friend me.
