  1. Hi, I am in the process of repairing the damage brought about by leaks that are seemingly common to many of the 'stick & tin' type Toyota RV's Assuming the images I have uploaded are visible, you'll find the notes that I made pertaining to the current portion of the coach that I am focusing on, the rear and passenger side walls, including the rearward doorway (if I understand correctly mine is the "300" layout) leading to the rear kitchenette. My primary question: is there a trick to removing the side and rear upper cabinets without destroying them? The side cabinet has 3 screws visible on the forward side panel, with two visible on the rear side panel (is there a third obscured by the cupboard above where the fridge goes?) I also want to express my appreciation for the time taken by everyone who has made this amazing resource what it is. Linda, not sure if you remember me, but my name is Nick. I have communicated with you a few times via the site's FB page(?). My username was Nick Dolphin, but when I tried recovering my password, the email link was not functioning. Not a big deal, at that point I hadn't contributed much of any value to this wonderful site. Thanks in advance! Nick
  2. Good afternoon folks, I have an '86 Sunrader which because I haven't ever owned and RV before has been basically a tent on wheels for me and my three dogs. I'd really like to put the RV to full use but I can't figure out a way to get to know how to use all the appliances and such all. What website, YouTube channel, other resource would you suggest that I use to educate myself? Thanks in advance! Jen dog_logic@yahoo.com
  3. I installed a custom-fabricated support for the cab-over. Two steel rods were welded onto small brackets in the doorjam, which was then also welded to 3" steel plate. The steel plate ran the width of the fiberglass, and was screwed into the existing metal support. The wood and foam from the cab-over interior was destroyed by water damage, so it was all ripped out and replaced with new high-grade lumber, foam, and plywood. All in all, I'm very happy with the results and shouldn't ever have water problems in this area again. It's a shame that they didn't think to add more support here in the first place! I'm still not done, I could use some help in deciding what to do about the outermost layer, which is still heavily glued on. It's incredibly hard to strip off, but I was thinking about buying an electric planer to get an even surface to glue a new piece of plywood to. Thanks for looking!
