  1. Toyota fans, I have the summer off and me, my wife and 2 kids are heading on a road trip of epic proportions. I have done these trips in Vans and cars, but I just bought my 1989 Warrior for 10k and am looking for advice. We will be hitting 8k plus altitudes in the Rockies and also enduring some serious desert heat in AZ. Generally, I just need a list of to do's for the trip. The RV seems to be in great shape and only has 42000 original miles on it. Also, it's a California RV which means almost no rust or corrosion. I also have no idea where to take the RV for a checkup and Onan generator tuneup (161 total op hrs). So far this RV is amazing, but I want to be prepared for obvious eventualities. Are there any help videos that you have run across giving a step by step on the 1989/1990 warrior? GIve me your generous pearls of wisdom my friends and I will be most grateful!
  2. I finally just said to heck with it and took off down the road on my first outing in "Red Emerald". I can't even begin to express how proud I am of the little Toyota motorhome. Not one single hitch what-so-ever. It was just and over nighter or weekender and I was using abundant caution and care. Watched my speed (below 60 mph) and monitored the tranny for any bad signs and didn't spot a single problem. So besides being a lot of fun and very comfortable it was also a big confidence builder too. Look forward to many more trips now. Here is a video: The Alltamaha WMA / Harris Neck NWR Road Trip
  3. Just returned home to Canada after a road trip ! Rig was our 1990 Toyota Dolphin ... Mum & Dad & 2 kids ... Fully loaded inc roof storage , 2 kayaks , motor scooter ... Left Manitoba Canada mid December , traveled the USA & Mainland Mexico 6,500 miles round trip .. Bert the Dolphin never never let us down , it is the most dynamic rig on the road for this type of adventure . The motor turned 100k miles on the way home , we ran 5w30 full synthetic oil & it did not used a single drop . Transmission we drained & filled 3 times before we left & 1 more time at our half way stage in Mexico . Ran regular unleaded gas & mileage varied from a high of 17mpg to 11mpg into a all day head wind in New Mexico ... On a real good test from Phoenix Arizona north to Flagstaff climbing 6500ft fully loaded , full fresh water tank but empty grey/black tanks we got 13.6 mpg ... & never got more than warm . We bought this Toyota for this trip only ... But I can say to all I doubt we will ever sell it now .... Bert is now one of the family ,, kinda like a older child to say . He was our home for 92 nights ...
