  1. I searched the forum for something similar, but wasn't getting the info I needed. (sorry if this is a repost). I recently bought a 1986 Wanderlust with 22RE, and had the pleasure of taking it for a trip last weekend to camp with the family. On this journey i noticed that the gas gauge rose to just under a 1/2 tank when turned on, but didnt move from there during the whole trip (100kms). Additionally, the gas light came on at part of the trip and I threw in $20 of gas to get he home (right now in BC $20 gets you about 2 gal. ) So I'm curious about what could be causing this weird crossing of signals. Sending unit possibly? I'm going to get under the rig to investigate this AM, but not 100% sure what I'm doing, so just getting as much info as possible. Also, my temp dial doesnt seem to work either, so i'll be investigating that too.
  2. I bought a 1985 21' Sunrader a while back and was told by the seller that it had a 17 gallon tank. Indeed, judging by the fuel guage it seemed to be 17 gallons, as when the guage read near empty, around 17 gallons would fill it. Poking around under the vehicle for other reasons, I noticed that the fuel tank seemed pretty large. It's rectangular and measures 34" x 13.5" x 13.5". Using an online volume calculator, and taking the slightly rounded corners into account, it would seem this is a 26 gallon tank. Is there something I'm not considering here that might make it 17 gallons? If it is a 26 gallon tank, I'm thinking that perhaps someone stuck the stock bracket and sender on it, hence the guage readings. If that's the case, am I right in thinking that the pump is likely sitting a few inches above the bottom of the tank? I don't mind the sender/guage being off, but if the pump is sitting above the tank bottom is there a way to put an extension hose our tube on the bottom of it to make it reach the bottom of the tank ( with the sock filter attached to the end)?
  3. I am in the process of ripping the old flooring, fridge, and heater of out my old '83 Mini and stumbled upon the housing for the gas tank filler which was framed out underneath the carpet. Turns out its eaten away by gas and cracked all over so I am looking for a replacement. Is it called a gas filler housing? Does anyone know where I can get a new one? Even if its unverisal Im not picky just want to get it sealed off effectively. The picture shows where the filler was framed into the cab the outside plate is recessed and probably about 6" in diameter.
  4. Does anyone know how many gallons the gas tank holds in a 21' 1984 Toyota Sunrader? I googled it first but coudn't find anything for my year. Thanks
