  1. I haven't got the toy out this summer at all, what a bummer! One thing after another... the heatwave hit us in June, I did use the toy the for the ac, no central air. Made for a couple nights of comfortable sleep in the driveway. Now with the fire danger parks are closed or a fire ban is in effect, what's the use of going camping if you can't have a fire? Pretty soon the cold is going to hit and the weather will be hit or miss. Now I get it why most of my camping days are in the fall winter time frame. To top it off I have a dead cab battery, 2/14 date so it probably needs to be replaced anyway. Hope you all are are fairing better. Cheers Gary
  2. We are reburbishing our 1986 toyota dolphin mini camper and working currently on the front end. We need to replace the steering damper and are having a hard time finding the proper replacement. The one we believe we need for the specific model we have has a greasable ball joint knuckle. All the others available and much more reddily available have a pin at the same point of contention. What our question is is does anyone know if the pin is actually preferable to the knuckle since the knuckle seems so seldom used and is the damper with the pin able to be used in place of the one with the knuckle? Look forward to conversation and input from others experience!
  3. There are so many toilets out there for camping and RVs, Whether retired and live aboard to the weekender or the full time Boondocker, what is the squatter use to take a squat? I have made my self dizzy, researching the world of toilets, from the $1000 composting, to the $15 poop in a bag concepts. I won't have access to "hook ups", so I have decided to install one of the portables, as the toilet in my RV will only be used for emergencies or weekend jaunts around the state. When I take off on my 2 year trip I will reinstall the Black/gray and fresh tanks, but for now... What do you use or recommend for the weekend warrior? B
  4. For those who are interested here is a Youtube, of our First real camping trip after solving the overheating problem. Now how to solve the small gas tank problem. Here in Nevada there are lots of cool areas to explore but not necessarily gas stations within the tank range! https://youtu.be/xMDFBENEtmo
