I picked up a 77 Chinook Gazelle for the shell and wrecked 13 tacoma 4x4 to build this...I cut 10" out of the camper and laminated it back together with 10" added to the front to fit the Acess cab... welded steel subfloor... this is where I am 1300 hours later! I had a 91 Sunrader to do a 4x4 conversion to but opted to build this custom Chinook instead. My plans are for a huge international journey starting in Australia.   2. Hello everyone- Yes like maybe a lot of you I have always wanted to build a 4x4 chinook. Four years ago I rebuilt a 89 pop top jayco truck camper as a graduation gift to take a trip to the ocean. The project was fun and I learned a lot, but I sold the big ford diesel 7.3 and camper and down graded in life for a few years so I could finally start a 4x4 chinook build. I am trying really hard to document every little step of the way so maybe it will help someone else or just for a good read.
