  1. The pin doesn’t have enough room to go in because of the propane tank. Can the pin be removed from the plate? I don’t remember how I got this side off.
  2. The second photo is the bushing fitted without the sleeve. What happens if you install the spring without the sleeve? Yes, I am assuming I removed the oem springs with original bushings and sleeves.
  3. So went and purchased the ARB bushings that go with the leaf springs and they fit into the leaf springs, now the bushing sleeve won’t fit the hardware and the old bushing sleeve won’t fit into the new bushings. Should I buy new hardware or install without the sleeve?
  4. I bought these during the pandemic. Fml this project has taken this long hahaha. Not sure what do to at this point, find someone to try and press them in or buy different ones?
  5. I didn’t try a C clamp. I used a rod and bolt method where I try to tighten the bushing using a rod, washers and nuts from both sides.
  6. Back at it again. Removed the bronze bushing from the spring, the bushing still won’t fit. I don’t really want to buy new ones and have the same thing happen. Any suggestions?
  7. Fixing it might have been better maybe, but I just didn’t feel like putting that much effort into a 30 year old broken tank that might break again. I would rather just pay for a new one and if I have to drill new holes no biggie I guess. I will double measure everything and look for model and make. Thanks Linda!
  8. I’m only going to replace the grey water tank. Looking for a replacement exactly the same size. Hopefully it screws into the same holes the old one came out.
  9. At this point I would rather just buy a new one. This thing was infested before I got it. If the back was anything like under the dash was I’m gonna replace everything under the sink hahah! don’t want any rat crap anywhere. Here’s pics of the black tank sensor wires. Both sides have cut wires. Should I worry about it right now?
  10. Took the black tank off to sand the frame. The grey tank is broken and it looks like the rodents were in it. I’m gonna take the sensor wires off of the grey tank. Looks like the yellow wire is cut.
  11. Cool, I'm gonna hold off on getting an air system right now. I'm considering what you said about not having the jounce in the airbag for full control.
  12. What about these ones with the "Jounce"? https://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=19781&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyp3musOR9gIVLCGtBh0qxQR5EAQYAiABEgIOxfD_BwE
  13. I am apprehensive about installing the air bags myself, I have been worried about doing every part of the rebuild by myself but it’s getting done and I’m having fun. Every shop I have taken this thing to has screwed me and everything is torn apart right now, so I’m just gonna do it. I have help with me and I rebuilt the entire front end with help from this site. When you say I need to make intelligent choices do you mean with how it is installed or also the brand and parts I choose? I’m willing to pay for convenience and an all in one solution as opposed to sourcing the individual items mostly because of support the company gives you when you buy from them and my experience level. Spending an additional few hundred bucks isn’t a big deal right now as long as I know everything works correctly and I have a good warranty. I just thought it would be cool to install self leveling air bags that will adjust each side accordingly. The interface or how you control it isn’t very important to me as long as it works and fits my truck properly. I just need to get this thing done, this project has taken over a year and two different cities since I started. I want to buy something this week because my leaf springs are almost ready to be put on and I want everything installed at one time. I might just buy the air bags Linda suggested and worry about the air system later. Thanks for all the input everyone it’s always awesome on this site!
