Hey all, couldn't find anything in the forum. Hoping someone knows how I would go about replacing the brass fitting for the propane tank. The past 30 years of use have worn it down to the point of (yes I know not good, but it's at last resort stage) using vise grips. The nut is getting worn to nothing and is a ticking clock to trouble at this point.

What about ocean shores WA? Quinault casino has RV sites $10 a night in the summer might be able to organize a group situation with them although I know they don't do reservations. Or at least a rally on the beach. We drove on the beach no problem, within reason, and lots of room! Can park over night technically but "can't sleep" I think for tide reasons.

Hey everyone! So how about this? There is a youtuber rver/ camper meet up August 15-21 at Riffe Lake near Morton WA. GPS: 46.488972, -122.183313 I will be there (might be the 19th) the 20th and 21st. It would be great to not only get one rally of campers even bigger but to also squeeze in a little Toyota one at the end too! Also the 21st is the eclipse so what better time! Beautiful lake front camping, free for 7 days...

Thanks for the help everyone! So Linda you have a smaller yotahome? Thanks for the tips, I will have to think it over. Thanks Mark, yea I have a 21ft that we (girlfriend, dog, and I) live in so it is very much over loaded:) It is a pretty bouncy ride (like an old Buick) and think braking would improve with a more rigid shock like the Bilstiens.

I'm looking on doing the same. Great shocks, had them on my jacked up 4runner! Great prices too wow! So which are the fronts and rears? My fronts need them first the almost 30 year old original ones are bleeding out pretty good. Anyone have a link to a good how to guide? Never changed shocks before.

Hey awesome! I'm near Hoodsport. How long you going to be around? We could do a micro meet up at a park or something. I work at a campground but the group sites are booked every weekend until Sept.

I agree. Guessing there are some FB pages worth reaching out to. I don't have it so cant help with that. Assumed all yoterhomes were welcome for that reason. If you wanted to do a Chinook only thing that will need a lot of planning, outreach, and much more time I think.

Hi Judy! I was thinking about trying to get one going out here (possibly for the eclipse?) as well without much interest or reply. We are living about 1 hour north west of Olympia on the 101 for the summer would be awesome to get something going! Is anyone else interested??? Not much of a rally just two rigs haha. That Chinook looks sweet, they are such cool rigs congrats! I work at a campground so I could organize a large group camp site possibly depending when (maybe august?) and how many want to join/ contribute. Open to having it somewhere else besides where I work though:) You can just send me a PM if ya want to try and get this going! -Jack

Thanks for all the responses everyone! Quickly backing out on the toad car idea the more I think about the everyday issue. Also I hear you cant back up with toads? Also surprised to hear a geo metro is 1800 lbs, my guess was around 900 haha. That much weight wouldn't work, for long anyway my brakes hate me enough already being home for 2 people, all our crap, and an 80 pound dog. A very small trailer might be the direction I go or just a rack on the front for a small motorcycle or scooter. Being able to fit in one parking spot and being able to get to more secluded camps is a tough trade off.
-
Been kicking this idea around for a while now. I have seen toyhomes towing some pretty big trailers. I would love to get a toad since we workcamp and having to drive the house for grocery runs or exploring has been getting old. I have a 48cc gas bike but being able to have a car so we (girlfriend, dog, and I) can all venture out in a small car would be such an upgrade in life. Also to be able to transport supplies more than what fits on a bike and in a backpack would be a help. Especially being in the PNW right now the gas bike is not so fun in the rain. Thinking a Geo Metro or something really light would be do-able? We have a tow hitch that I have about 250 pounds of a cargo box on it (shown below) but the frame isn't reinforced. I hear they are thin towards the back and seems most are doing that on here. Would a tow dolly or tow setup work better as far as tongue weight and better braking? Should I just abandon the idea because it's dangerous and stupid? Feel like it would kill my motor, tranny, or brakes especially. Do have the 3.0 and its only got 5k on it after being rebuilt so feel the power is there. Assume all would need upgrading.. " 1. Big trannie cooler 2. OS 3 row radiator 3. Hopped up engine 130+ hp 4 New HD brake pads, no wheel covers for max brake cooling. 5 Reinforced frame and bumper, frame mounted hitch. 6. Trailer brakes." Also thinking getting a HFT trailer (1090 lb. Capacity 40-1/2 in x 48 or the 4x8? Suggestions?) and getting a 250 dual sport and just making a small open bike trailer with cargo boxes on the front and sides. The Sea Breeze also has a hitch on the front from the previous owner so was also thinking just doing a hitch mount motorcycle carrier for the future possible dual sport. Wouldn't have to worry about towing a trailer but worried about it blocking visibility from the driver seat when all loaded up. Seen front mounted motor bikes on rv's but on domestic van chassis with a much higher point of view. So yea lots of ideas and questions, looking for some help or insight to try and avoid mistakes and not waste money:)

Join the TOYOTA RV RALLY in Quartzsite, AZ - Jan. 20 - 23, 2017

Wish I knew sooner! Anything in the works yet for next year? I would love to attend and happy to help any. Looks like a great time. -
Wow you got a sweet deal! I have been debating on getting a TV or not. Before being on the move every day or so it was much of an issue. Now we're workcamping at a rv park and cable is free... also a great distraction from the horrible wifi. Would love to see where you put it and how it fits in. Thinking 19" is the biggest you could go in these little yoter homes.

Help I need a new water heater
DirtyPatches replied to gringostar's topic in Coach ApplianceTech Issues
Thanks for the advice everyone! Good point about the tankless, very true probably only take a 10 minute shower to fill the grey. Way too much work as little as we need hot water. Went with a brand new replacement for $318 on eBay. 6 gallon with electric start. Can't wait to rip out the old one! -

Good advice! Looking at new models (found my model number inside the outer door). Found one for $318 on ebay, going for $425 plus on some sites! Would love to do a tankless conversion but just cant justify the price. Some cheaper models out there that say they are for RV's/ boats (around $200), but not sure how to go about doing the conversion. Anyone know of someone doing a cheaper model tankless swap in a toyota rv? Probably going to play it safe and buy the replacement. Fairly easy to swap I'm assuming? Experience with that anyone? -

Thanks Linda! Better deal than the one I was looking at. Rv shop quoted me at 800$! What robbery, heard it's about a few hour job probably one for them. For now I am bypassing the tank with a plastic nipple and two 90's so we can have water still. -

Found a nice big crack in my tank. Need to replace it, anyone know the model number for the Atwood with electric switch? In a 1990 Sea Breeze. I hear patching won't work... for long anyways:(
