  1. I've been following you since I bought this chinook 3 years ago and you seem to know exactly why to do in every situation. I need a tranny for a 78 chinook. I have seen some of your posts about the w50 being the easy way with a lower rpm in first gear I don't want that I need a 1st that will start up hill decent. And I'd like a 5 th. My question is what tranny do I want and what does it come out of, I know the w 50 were out of  Celicas I think is it the w59 I want and what year of car an make does it come out of? Any help would be appreciated . I'm working out of town an my tranny just started making some noise so hopefully I can limp it home and get it to my shop and find one in the junk yard

  2. My domestic is workin, it's just not gettin as cold as I would expect. I haven't tried it on propane because I have it pulled out of my coach. I'm a union sheetmetal worker so I have dealt with some refrigeration.
  3. Has anyone charged their dometic, with refrigerant? If what did you use 410a?
  4. Thank you all for your help. Toyota people really do stick together. I have 2 fjs as well and never had a problem gettin sound advice on Ih8mud. I know this isn't part of this thread but I couldn't find it in another, should I buy a new cap for my vent or just a whole new assembly? It's 14", and is there a place to order them or should I just got to the rv store?
  5. Ok so the rubber molding dosent prevent leaking.? So I feel like all of my windows leak so I was gonna pull them all out and do gaskets and the butyl tape, black right? I got one of my sliding windows that doesn't stay in the track and falls in all the time and I can't really tell from at the other one what the difference is. It's all plexy so I'm not worried about stuff breakin. But I don't want to do all of this wall remodeling and then have it leak and get felines again. So the butyl tape is the barrier from water?

  7. What do people think about core-bonding for insulating the chinook?
  8. Also JD, what benefit do get from havin wider tires in the back? Why did the previous owner do this do you wonder?
  9. I was askin about Weight distribution as far as narrower tires more pressure on the axel. I'm sorry idk what came stock, I thought that was stock with the wider tires in the back. I'm new to owning Rvs
  10. Linda thank you for the info. So a narrower tire is not going to mess with weight distribution?
  11. I have 15 in wheels, my concern was with the weight and my clearance in my wheel wells. I stuck my hand I. There last night and I feel like I could afford to come up a couple in us without rubbin. I jus didn't know about going skinnier tires and hurtin the axels. I appreciate your help.
  12. I'm tryin to find a company that makes tires that can be studded for my chinook. 275/60. Anyone know of anything?
  13. Hi I'm new to motorhome fridges. Do they have condensers, will it make noise if it's runnin? I have plugged mine in and haven't heard anything or felt it get cold.
  14. Hi Montana chinook. I just bought a 78 omega. I live in Helena too I have been reading your blog and it is very informative. I was wondering when you were back home if you wanted to meet for coffee or something and maybe I could pick your brain about some stuff. Thank you for your time.
