  1. Hi all, Don't come here much, but I own a 1980 Sunrader. When I bought it I had plans to rebuild it and still do. I really had some similar design less the complete refabrication of the floor and roof. My hope was to swap the truck out for some think a little bigger like the t100, but try and keep the same platform of the truck and sunrader in hopes that I could remove the sunrader and use the truck as a flatbed truck when needed. I still have plans to do this. I think the the way this build was done almost what I was looking to do. If the builder is still around the forum I just would like to know if you have pics of how you made the lifts that keep the sunrader raised. I would also like to know if your floor design mounting was any different from the original setup. Thanks in advance for your help. PS: Forgot to mention i purchased the sunrader about 5 years ago so its been sitting since then in my yard. All I do is use it as storage and pressure wash the mildew off the sides. yes the roof is sagging.
  2. Hello all, i'm new here just purchased my first motor home and it happens to be a 1984 toyota sunrader. It was stripped of parts by the current owner to refurbish another Sunrader. Now he want to get rid of the parts sunrader and I ended up purchasing it for $200 sight unseen. regardless I was looking for a sunrader shell to rebuild and restore. part of my thought is to change the truck from a standard Toyota Pickup to a toyota 4x4 which would help give me a little better traction while driving on rainy days. The thought I have currently is to just change the chasis to a 1st generation 4 runner chasis which i have access to and use the body frame from the original pickup model. Or i could wait to find a 1986-1995 toyota 4x4 pickup truck and just swap out the chasis and cab. Currently I have access to a 1989 toyota 4runner chasis and thought I could use it and the original cab which may bolt right up to the chasis. The other thing is I am looking for a 6lug full floating rear axle here in south florida for it as it currently has the 5lug rear axle. This would give the updated chasis and suspension along with 4wd. If any one has done or seen it done, please let me know. The chasis is there and is free for me. Thanks
